Monster High AU
Arthur swallowed thickly as he stood in the front foyer of the school, nervously letting his gaze flicker over everything. And there was so much to take in. He clutched his notebooks closer to his chest as he looked over huge, curving archways and oddly ornate looking lockers, the trophy cabinet fit to burst with statues, ribbons and pictures only briefly holding his attention as the bell rang and students began pouring into the hallways. An involuntary sound left his throat as he stumbled backwards slightly to keep from getting trampled, most students not noticing or caring for the new boy still just trying to get his barrings.
Honestly, if Arthur's uncle hadn't looked so proud when Arthur's acceptance letter came in the mail, he would have told Lance that he hadn't even applied to this school. However, upon closer inspection of the envelope he realized he had, technically, applied there. He'd written the address wrong to the tech school he'd actually meant to apply to, and wound up, instead, looking over the paperwork for a strange school that Arthur had never even heard of before, but offered enough academic honors classes that it still held his interest.
And the next thing he knew, it was too late to apply anywhere else, Lance had practically packed his belongings for him, and he'd been shipped off to a new school far enough away from his Uncle's shop that he'd needed to get a room in the student dorms. He'd been assured that even though he had to start a couple of days later than the other students that he'd been fine, though he sorely wished he hadn't missed orientation. Especially given that he was now faced with scales and feathers, fangs and glowing eyes, and everything in between pushing past him and nearly forcing him to back completely into a wall to keep out of the way.
He'd read somewhere on the paperwork something about monsters or magic, or something along those lines, but he'd honestly thought it was some sort of freshman joke. Apparently it was not, if the sharp eyed girl who hissed at him while barring fangs when he'd accidentally stepped on her tail was anything to go by.
Arthur felt his back hit the wall as his head began to spin. What had he just gotten himself into?!
