Anyways, I never see anything on here or anywhere about The Night Clerk and instead of settling for non-existent fics, I’ve decided just to write one.
Now, for those of you who have no idea what this movie is or who Bart is, lemme give a brief explanation:
The Night Clerk is a movie about a hotel night clerk, Bart, who is on the spectrum and is diagnosed with Asperger’s. He secretly installs cameras into various rooms of the hotel to study the behaviors and speech patterns of the more neurotypical guests. One night while watching his cameras, he unwittingly witnesses a murder of a female guest. Deciding to conceal the footage, he is transferred to another hotel and meets a woman who he begins to fall for. Unfortunately for him she is involved in a love affair with the a man whom Bart recognizes as the killer.
My fic will take place sometime after this. My OC will be a “long-term guest” or more specifically, a permanent residence of the hotel where she works as a means to pay for her room. She is involved in theatre and begins working in the hotel as a cook, later becoming an extra front desk clerk on occasion. Her and Bart slowly form a bond and eventually a mutual attraction to one another.
My original concept for this was an extended one-shot but will probably evolve into a multi-part fic. If so, it’ll be a trilogy showcasing the stages of their relationship as it develops.
(I’m so sorry for those of my followers who were hoping I’d be adding another chapter to my Jasper Hale x Bella Swan fic! I’ve been in a bit of a slump bc of life - had to go into a mental hospital for a while - and I haven’t completed my draft of chapter 2 yet.
