"Oh it's not that bad." She assured. "Really, I can walk it out."
Not with that leg, and not with that gash, but the one problem about traveling the multiverse is that she doesn't really exist beyond her own, and the arms that are currently hidden under her coat bring too many questions.
"I'll be fine."
Or she'll try. Through sheer, reckless strength of will, she will manage. Because she's a woman on a mission and she needs to find Rosie.
" engaging reading? " she says, tilting her head to catch a glimpse of the lettering on the spine. her tone is ironical, but there is no real judgement in it. indeed, she cannot entirely blame the young woman for her avoidance of the party. for all the illustrious company her aunt had managed to amass that evening, caroline could count on one hand the number of guests with remotely tolerable conversation... she herself had made her excuses, insisting her poor pug, horace, could not be neglected for a whole evening without a single treat from the refreshment table... now, she though she is looking for any excuse to delay her return...
" at the very least, it must be more diverting than the supper conversation. though that bar is not an especially high one to clear... "

❝ oi ! bartlet ... ❞ in a desperate attempt to get the girl's attention, he's forgotten what being normal entails, and rushes towards her, grabbing her shoulder ever so gently to stop her in her steps. ❝ you avoiding me or something ? and what's that about anyways ? what's got you acting all hoity toity, like you're too good for ol' spike, huh ? ❞
@bartletsellie sent: you want to share your side of the story?
That question is met with a quiet, almost childish I-don’t-know noise and a shrug. She’s not looking up at the medic, jaw set as she sits with crossed arms. So maybe she had gotten a bit too heated and tried to punch someone. No, actually, she got a bit too heated and did punch someone, started a bit of a fight actually, and might have gotten in another hit if the stupid guards that seem to be all over this place hadn’t held her back. Maybe that was her fault. But to be fair, being trapped in this weird repressive tunnel town is driving her a little crazy. It’s been too long without the trees.
“Does it matter?” If it was up to her, she would patch herself up and be done with it, but evidently she can’t get away with that here. Can’t get away with many things here, it seems. “I’m just here to get this over with.” That sums up a lot of her attitude about this place, actually.
CHEATING DEATH - what does your muse think about death? are they afraid of it? for nat?
uncomfortable hcs
Nat considers her thoughts on death realistic, respectful. She works a dangerous job and knows the statistics. It's a count down to injuries, to knowing at least one person who died as a result of their career prospect. That said, her neutral, maybe cold, take on death is a bit optimistic after she and Bob are forced to eject. There's denial - she doesn't want to acknowledge just how close to death she came.
