base is from playground, and knife is from lost temple. both of them moved to crossroads, though, and thats where they actually met. neither of them associate with their original factions anymore
knife has bpd and Very Bad anger issues that he's actively trying to work on . base is aware of this and tries his best to help de-escalate situations and help him calm down (see: base gently nudging knife aside and responding to sword calmly himself)
- knife hates hates haaates how easily he gets angry. my proof for this is his expression before he snaps at sword. he looks .. concerned. worried. a bit upset. like he knows whats coming and is trying to not snap but he just cant
base is the genre of playgrounder who learnt that the best way to win a fight is to avoid it in the first place. i feel like most playground inphernals tend to fall into two categories, that one, and then 'fight back harder'. base is definitely the former
both of them left their original factions on their own accord, they weren't kicked out or anything
base got sick and tired of constantly being on edge and distrusting of everyone around him (although that sort of stuff doesnt just go away. he definitely still is)
knife 1) wanted away from the .. everything. with firebrand. and 2) is very very uncomfortable about the CotTE, and wanted Away . he was never a church member but he hated their general presence around him
the two of them share a shitty apartment because its all that they can afford honestly
theyre actually Not dating . shoutout to all the base/knife shippers out there (<- talking to a crowd of like 3 people) youre so real but to us they're just close friends . yay ! (we wouldnt be opposed to drawing ship art though if anyone had any base and/or knife requests. smiles)
