The giants sweep the rockies ending the season 81-81 tied with the rangers as most average team in the league and missing the playoffs because once again they couldn't get it done when it mattered most. In their last 500 games, they are perfectly .500, so they're the most average team statistically the last couple seasons as well. How do they do it? Ik the pitching was a weak spot as usual. I'm sure blame will inevitably fall on team management for "bad moves" or "being to greedy to spend on players" (even though having a team that's a consistent world series threat every year makes way more money despite player salaries than having a bad team does. Key examples being the yanks and dodgers), but I thought posey made better moves than farhan did, and melvin is a good manager, but at this point I think it's player attitude more than anything, like they'll be flying high for a couple weeks striking people out, hitting the ball, making important plays, and go 9-1, then it's like they notice and get performance anxiety about it and then they go 7-13 the rest of the month. How the fuck do they do it enough to be perfectly .500 over multiple seasons?
