Golden Goose: I had a lovely conversation last night about what one does when one has the opportunity to change the world, and I don’t say that in a glib, pandering way. To change the world is the stuff of nightmares. It is a horrifying responsibility to think that because things cannot remained the same, each and everyone of us must shoulder some responsibility for how they will become different. In a kinder, gentler world, you could live the simple version of your story. Forces conspire to change things, and so even if it escapes you what you must write, know that if you write nothing, others will write something.
