No doubt about it, Natalia was excited to be spending time with someone who wasn't related to her by blood and or Sophie or Brexley. If Taylor was more than willing to not watch anything that featured an hour of heads getting chopped off or mindless guts and gore, Natalia would consider that afternoon a good one.
"I hope you're cool with The Breakfast Club, it's one of my favorites." She said, although it wasn't that much true. It was a norm or most people to be familiar with the film though, and Natalia just wanted to do everything she could in order to be friends with Taylor. Plus it wasn't like she minded the film though, she did think it was a bit dated the hundredth time around. But she didn't want to put on the films she had hidden in her bedroom out of fear Taylor would find them weird. She put the movie on fast, pressed the play button and sat back with the other girl the instant she could. Unlike the other times she'd spent watching films with her brothers, Natalia sat straight like an arrow next to Taylor feeling her heart race being alone with another person. She took a steady breath as she excused herself to get the popcorn she was popping before the other came in.
Calm down, Nat. She sighed, face deep into hands. She couldn't help but crumble at the fact she was freaking out over her friend being in the same room as her, hated the way could barely keep calm watching a movie. She tapped her fingers against the counter and gave herself a small smile. If she was going to get over this fear, she might as well start then. Returning with the bowl, Natalia hesitantly sat next to Taylor, pressed their shoulders against one another as she popped a handful into her mouth. Her throat felt closed, and she could feel her hands shake just slightly the first few minutes of the movie. But after the first few jokes she'd finally eased into it, pressed her head against Taylor's as her heartbeat went back to a steady pace. While Natalia refused to fall asleep on her new friend, the moment she caught Taylor's eyes fall a bit she took the moment as an opportunity. Adjusting the two of them so Taylor sat on her lap, Natalia smiled softly letting her friend sleep on her lap, humming soft songs similar to what her mother had done. She ran her hands through Taylor's hair, fingers combing through the strands until her own eyes shut too. Natalia couldn't remember the last time she slept so well, but she did remember cursing at Walcott the moment he woke them up.

"Can we please not mess up my room, I just cleaned it." Natalia huffed, folding her arms as Taylor started to toss pillows and blankets up in what she assumed was a blanket fort. Natalia wasn't a fun person, she knew that. But when you were a straight-A student who was barely hanging onto said GPA by a thread. it was difficult to be chill.
But Taylor somehow had a way of convincing her. Natalia always had a hard time saying no to the to other girl, and within a few minutes she was already following Taylor's lead in helping her build the fort until they had a picture-worthy blanket fort fit for two queens.
And she had fun doing it too, admittedly. Natalia was a lot more relaxed around Taylor. She thought about it sometimes, unsure how and why this girl who was totally different from her had managed to make things seem a lot more easy, whether it be the fact she distracted her from being stressed, a little break from reality. But Natalia was thankful for Taylor's existence in her life.
"Since we built it... we are going to go inside it right?" Natalia asked in a small voice. It was every one of her nightmares going into the small space with someone, alone in her room, alone in the fort, but regardless Natalia was going to force herself to do it. Taylor had shown her she was a good person, and she wanted to keep their friendship however long she could. Grabbing her hand, the girl walked them both inside as she fell back against the pillows in ease. She didn't immediately detach their hands, but instead intertwined their fingers filling the space in between them like a key into a lock before offering the space next to her to Taylor.
The next few moments were silent. Natalia chose it to be this way, unsure how to respond really. A mix of emotions ran through her of fear and anxiety, but she'd never felt this calm in her life and she was unsure why it was that she did especially around someone she still very much considered a stranger. "I don't remember the last time I've felt this okay," she sighed tilting her head to look at Taylor. She gave the other a small smile and her hand a small squeeze. "I think it's time we go study now though."

"I'm sorry, I had no idea it was tonight." Natalia mumbled, her hands shakily trying to clasp the dress her father brought upstairs for the wedding at the restaurant. She bit her lower lip looking at Taylor, a grimace on her face every time the clasp refuse to come undone. She hated forgetting things, especially something important like this. She couldn't remember the last time she felt so stressed, especially since she'd become friends with Taylor.
Pausing for a moment, she came up with a great idea. "But, if you wanted to stay I think I can bring a plus one." Natalia offered with a soft smile. She walked over to Taylor, slipped the necklace against her neck and placed it around the other girl's. "I mean, you'd definitely be the main attraction.
In spite of her ideas of romance, Natalia did love weddings, especially when weddings happened at the restaurant. That evening. a couple who visited regularly decided to have their sixty year anniversary at Cipriano's and it made her heart swell at the way the man looked at his wife. Natalia hoped maybe she'd be able to look at someone else that, in spite of knowing it would probably never happen
Natalia couldn't help but be distracted watching the two of them. Something she knew would be a rarity to Taylor if she noticed the way her mouth was slightly agape as she watched the couple fall in love again around the tables. She ran a hand through her hair as she felt a tap on her shoulder, her father offering her a plate of the cake as she nodded and took with a smile on her face.
"I hope you're having fun, I am really sorry I forgot we were supposed to study today." Natalia said, a soft smile against her lips as she continued to watch the couple. She bit her lower lip offering Taylor a piece of the cake, laughing softly the entire time feeling her heart beat fast in her chest but not in the same scared way it always had. It was beating fast for a good reason, definitely a good reason.
She opened her mouth to say something, but stopped fast once she felt the cake hit her straight in the face. Wiping the frosting from her eyes, Natalia looked down to see Walcott grinning widely at her, Nate snickering from behind ready for a high five.
She began, forgetting what she was going to say. ""I think we need to get payback on my brothers." Let's get them."
♥:: My muse crying about something Natalia was admittedly terrible at helping people, especially when it came to comforting others. For a girl who could barely keep her own emotions in check, she had no clue how to help people during times like this.
"Hey, do you want to talk?" Natalia asked, hesitating to wrap an arm around Taylor, but finding it impossible not to. She placed one hand on her knee, rubbing small circles with her fingers as her arm draped around the other's shoulders doing the same thing. “We don’t have to if you don’t want to,” she said as she pressed her head against Taylor's forehead, whispered soothing words to let her know it was going to be okay. It may not have been, but from experience Natalia knew hearing it was going to be okay from someone felt a lot better than never hearing it at all.
