Weird take of the day!
Whenever I run into a head cannon surrounding either Dick or Tim being blatantly incompetent when it comes to basic household necessities/chores I feel extremely uncomfortable.
Now are there similar discussions with Damian sure but he is a child who grew up in a position of extreme power.
Jason is always pictured as if he’s 1950’s housewife except instead of a husband he has a gun and instead of valium/tranquilizers there’s Jane Austin. But that in itself is ridiculous.
Do I think they all should be Alfred running around with feather dusters and bleach? No.
But Men should not be automatically moronic when it comes to cleaning/cooking.
Half of enemy to caretaker involving any of them has minimum one instance of cleaning everything because the other couldn’t do it.
It’s different with injuries/medical necessity of course if Dick is vomiting Tim can do the fucking dishes!
In order to actually be a functioning member of society you can’t burn water. To be a vigilante you should be able to do laundry without filling a room with soap.
Do I think objectively this is used more as a plot device than anything else? Yes.
Do I also know 100% it’s because of course men can be idiots when it comes to women’s work? Yes.
Look me dead in the face and tell me you would write Stephane’s or Bab’s this way?!?!
Dick can cook himself food!
Tim can clean his own room!
They aren’t mixing bleach and hydrogen peroxide! They can fold a towel.
Useless men are fucking annoying.

*Neither Dick or Tim would have been in a position to be completely unaware or ignorant of how to take care of themselves. It’s impossible.
