ANNOUNCEMENT: Hello everyone, if you like reading my personal interpretations of BBAU then please read this.

You may have noticed the “Related Lores” section, yes, I will add more to that overtime when I make more of these long form posts. Also, I am giving a formal name to my interpretation or story, “Basic Issue.” There are two tags for it that you may see on my posts:

#basic issue → Official works, actual one shots, long form comics. Does not include shitposts, fanart or short one-off comics.

#basic issue lore → The ultimate guide to figuring out what is happening, especially if you’re late and confused and too lazy to backread.

I HIGHLY recommend viewing the tags on the website version of Tumblr through the archive function. It’s much faster to look through all the lore that way instead of scrolling on the mobile version.

NEW RULE: Any old lore or works that is not published under Basic Issue, please assume that they are retconned. Treat them like any ordinary fanart, not like Basic Issue (Ex. “Fake Alex eating Girlfriend” or “Andrew is Badsum” or “Un-Well-Made Billy”’). It’s a clean slate!

In a way, by allowing people to misinterpret him as a sweet child, Billy’s Son is the best liar. He doesn’t even need to say a lie, instead he lets people make up their own stories.

The Mr. Billy Experience: Teacher

I think Billy became a teacher because he genuinely likes helping children. He likes being a second-parent’ish guide for them because he never had one growing up. He also likes the idea of positive progress — ala well-made — so being in a position that’s all about nurturing another generation is really appealing.

While his main subject is math, that’s only the subject assigned to him by Dept. of Education or whatever. His true subject is engineering, but that’s treated moreso as an optional workshop than a required subject in the curriculum.

I think his teaching style is very streamlined and direct to the point. There’s formalities like introductions and greetings, but then it’s immediately into the lesson plan and then the lesson itself. Because of his motive for nurturing a skillful mind, he is willing to repeat himself and backtrack in the lesson if a student doesn’t udnerstand a part. However, he refuses to discuss anything that is off-topic or not included in the lesson plan, this prevents derailing the discussion but also doesn’t allow for any new perspectives to be brought up.

He has a soft spot for his amputee students and is willing to give free maintenance on their prosthetics. It’s not that hard anyway, the models are nothing comapred to his robots or implants.

His straight-forward and conservative style can be seen as helpful but also intimidating. He’s a stickler for “well-made” tastes, so sometimes he looks pretentious or cultured depending on the person. However, if you muster up the courage to speak to him informally or outside of the classroom setting, you will find that his demeanor completely changes. He is very open to discussion, even the aimless ones. He adopts a very father-like persona, some kids really appreciate it but others find it unnerving, still not malicious though. He doesn’t have time to offer supplementary classes if you’re struggling, but he will give you a contact to someone so you can study on your own or with help.

I think he would take advantage of the fact he has well-articulated robots by having one act as an LGK (Lithuanian Sign Language) translator while he’s teaching. So it’s basically the equivalent of having subtitles on the side. He doesn’t do the signing himself so that he can focus on writing on the blackboard and looking at the students. However, if a student were to sign a question to him, he would have to answer them directly. In this case, he’d actually sign on his own while answering their question verbally so that the interaction feels more personal since he’s addressing that student specifically and not the whole class — he says the answer verbally anyway because maybe other students had the same question in mind.

“It’s not that hard,” Joe said, “Just talk to him, you’ll get along you’re both smart,” he said. “It’ll be funny,” he said. Baldina doesn’t believe him so Joe decides to strike up conversation with Billy just to show her how easy it is to talk to people if you put up an entertaining front. Little did both of them know, it would be way too easy for Joe… More than Joe was socially prepared for. Baldi isn’t getting involved in any interpersonal drama, Mrs. Pomp is there for moral support. She’s the only one with common sense, I think. She loses her temper at both of them, but it’s because she care for both of their well-being. Everytime any one of them do something stupid, another curl gets straightened.

BBAU headcanons on why I think each teacher rejects intimacy — Insecurity, Apathy, Grief. There’s supposed to be 5 but I couldn’t fit all of them on one page.

According to wiki, after his failed attempt to sell Scrina, Alex turned her into a “stress toy.” Obviously, the implication is that he beats her up — or inflict mental trauma if he doesn’t want to discard her — as a hobby. I like to think that she he ever decide to physical abuse her, he’d throw her into the Alex dimension for some quality isolation — and so that he can save her for later.

Idea

I believe at some point Asmodena awas sent into the Alex dimension as a sort of timeout, or maybe she was sent there to do a chore for Alex. While loitering in the meaty mess, she finds a giant dump full of various broken furniture. Apparently, all of those unecessary junk that Alex had been collecting by robbing people was being used her as other toys — he likes to destroy them, it’s like a rage room but the person breaking the stuff is not raging at all, he just wanted to break stuff.

Within the junk pile she finds all sorts of strange items and wacky parts that she takes with her when she exits the Alex dimension to store in her “collection drawer.” One day, while scrounging around the pile she finds Scrina laying ontop of it. She walks over to her and to her surprise, Scrina’s screen turns on. She hangs out with Scrina for awhile, talking about suff and keeping her company. If Asmodena has to do a chore while talking, she takes Scrina’s head and props it up on something so that they can keep talking. Scrina is not fond of Asmodena at all, “Augh…”

“There! See, three boxes is like a torso, so you look like you have a torso now! And you’re on a chair, so I made you look… Distinguised.”

“Thanks…”

“We should talk more, nobody wants to share shift with me because they say this place is scary — which I completely understand — but that means I’m all alone and usually I am alone, but that’s boring s-“

“Why would you think I would EVER want to talk with you?!”

“Because…” Asmodena drops the busted storage box and pots she was holding onto a table, “Well, I don’t actually care,” she leans on the table, looking non-chalant as ever, “I just don’t wanna be alone.”

Scrina sighs, “Don’t you have… Like… A hitlist to finish, or something…”

“Not my kinda hobby, honestly,” Asmodena waves the thoughts away and then focuses on opening the storage box. The lid creaks and various hinges pop out as if she were opening the mouth of a crocodile with broken teeth. Scrina watches her perplexed, “Not your… Hobby…” Asmodena tears off the lid of the storage box completely and examines the insides and the broken hinge, “Yeah.”

“But, you’re a demon…”

“Demons don’t just kill everything, we have other tasks like tempting, punishing, monitoring, ranking, blah blah blahhhh.”

“I see… So what are you?”

“In-training.”

“I see…”

Asmodena walks over to Scrina and holds the storage box’s lid in front of her, “Do you know what a Buti Hinge is?”

“A-… A what?!” Scrina’s monitor face forrows its’ eyebrows — or technically, eyebrow (singular) since her monitor is cracker cross the upper left corner.

“A buti hinger, y’know, the thing on doors?”

“???”

“If you fit it onto the door you can’t adjust it anymore, BUT it’s very sturdy compared to other hinges.”

“Who am I talking to…”

“Asmodena.”

“I thought you were… I dunno!”

“Thought I was a what? Stupid?”

“I dunno! (maybe) I thought you were magical and studying how to plot a murder, not… Whatever… Engineering student…” Asmodena laughs quite a bit at her confusion, she drops the metal lid on the floor and the lid crashes and wobbles (Bang!) before settling down. “AHAHaahhhh!” Asmodena waves one hand in front of Scrina and holds the other hand to her chest, “Ohhhh… You’re just like everyone else! Wow! I have other hobbies y’know.”

I believe that Asmodena retains her memories from her time with Bob, which means she knows a thing or two in regards to engineering. I like to think that because engineering was one of the few things she remembered and could call as “part of her old self” she became really dedicated to studying metallury again. Eventually while tinkering and studying, she realises she could user her skills to help Scrina. So not only is she doing this to regain some sense of self, she’s also doing this to help out her new friend, Scrina!

She uses her fire powers to help with molding metal. I like to think that at some point Scrina goes rogue and Asmodena thinks she went home, but she actually just snuck out to get a gift for her: Thermo-powered eletric conducters. This way, Asmodena can improve her engineering skills and have another use for her (rather weak) fire powers — she can’t just keep boiling water forever!

Idea

The notebooks in St. Alex college actually Alex’s diaries + demon research. The reason why Olivia has to collect them is to uncover the truth about St. Alex college and Alex himself. There’s 22 notebooks in total, — and all of them were written across Alex’s life — so not all of them actually contain Alex’s demon research nor important diary events related to Fake Alex. But still, Olivia has to collect all of them because she doesn’t know which of those 22 notebooks contain the i nformations she needs — also, I think Dolly would appreciate having the 22 notebooks gifted to her.

The rest of the ideas are Basic Issue stuff.

I had a monologue written for Alex where he tries to explain his living situation to Bob while in the Eternal Tea Time. There was one line that went, “I wrote in a journal- No, uhm… It was a diary, actually. I wanted to document every single happy memory I ever had at that time, because… I didn’t know if I would ever get to be happy like that again. I kinda wish I still had my diary but they don’t make diaries here, right? I just realised, the only person who owns books in this building is The Lady, that’s weird.”

I think if Alex ever got out of the ETT, someone would ask him, “You’re writing this in your diary, aren’t you?”

“Huh? I guess…” “I’d want to remember this moment forever, if I were you.”

“Gonzalo? I don’t think I should be writing in that old thing anymore.” “Finally grew out of that girly phase?” “No, no, I thought about it. When I get out of Tea Time, I’ll probably be busy fighting that demon so I won’t have time to write in it. Also, putting all my greatest fears and griefs in a little book? I already have twelve of those! Thank goodness that the information is probably outdated now. I would hate for that demon to undo all my progress…” “…Well said, buddy…” “Yes…”

“Also, Gonzalo.” “Yes?” “I was never a “little girly” anyway, I’m a woman now!” “Hahaahaaaaa… Good luck out there, soldier. Don’t come back here until you save those friends of yours’.”

I think the end of his arc would be him realising his life is finally filled with “too much” happiness, so if he spent every moment documenting every happy memory he’d be doing taht 24/7. So at some point he gives up trying to document in his diary and lives out every moment happily.
