the thing is, FFXV is poorly written in myriad obvious ways, but when people say "well it would have been better if we had explicitly known Bahamut/The Six/The Prophecy was bad from the beginning" I mean, I'm pretty sure you were supposed to get that from the fact that the game is explicitly a tragedy and everyone is grieving each other and their youth at all times
#ffxv#cyborg rambles#like it's not... rocket science.#even without episode ardyn which DOES explicitly frame it like that#you are supposed to gather that these characters live in a cruel and uncaring world with cruel and uncaring gods#basically from jump#then of course there's the separate issue of people who think FFXV is badly written because it's a tragedy#and to that i'm just like. play a different game my dudes#ffxv is a fucking mess and you're right it is disappointing and not very good#but at some point you need to separate the mechanical reasons for why that is apart from the story itself being tragic
