Mr. Nielsen: I can’t help but think back to my younger days, when I was playing the game I love, basketball. It was a while ago. What I found was that throughout my career there were times when players would find themselves getting caught up in the moment, and they would want to do what was lovingly referred to as forcing the play. They would just be so consumed with: I am going to get this section of our play done no matter what happens.
What usually ended up happening, Madam Speaker, was that they would throw the ball away to the opposing team, which was detrimental for the team’s overall goal. When I look at the bill, An Act to Make Alberta Open for Business, I’m wondering if perhaps we’re trying to force a play here in order to possibly make something happen based on what we’re trying to accomplish.
