So um. Yall probably don’t know but I pretty much constantly have the Simpsons playing in the background. I’m not kidding. But more to the point, there’s this very small bit in the beginning segment of one of the episodes.

It’s a silly one off about Moe getting way too excited over a basketball mascot named Swish and completely disregarding the fact that he accidentally reveals that Gil is the one playing the character. The whole thing is only like 30 seconds long and it’s the only actual interaction these two have ever had with each other.

But one day, after likely seeing this a million times, an interesting concept entered my brain.

Rare pair.

And lemme tell ya. I got really hyper fixated on this. I did a lot with this. And to my knowledge I am the only one who has any content about the concept. So. Yeah.

If I may. I believe I mentioned I was very hyperfixated on these two goobers. And unless someone can direct me somewhere to receive content, I’m gonna have to post it all bit by bit.

Also, based on how they met in canon, headcanon that Gil develops an alt persona. Because he literally gets upset that he can’t be Swish anymore in the clip. Fun fact, the design is heavily inspired by Marge’s drag look.

Anyways Moe waits until Gil is working at the tavern to bring up why he’s working there in the first place to his buddies. He is Nervous about it. Mostly because he has no idea how to label himself (he thought he was straight pft) but also cause of fear of general prejudice.

I also can’t decide if Lenny and Carl are already aware of it or not. Cause they are at the game with Moe when he beheads Swish. Who knows how much they paid attention to.

So basically after the Swish incident, Gil gets fired. And naturally he ends up working at the tavern since he hooked up with Moe.

But like with all his other jobs he keeps messing up somehow and Moe is about two seconds from killing him (firing him) because of his temper, which is kinda complicated since they’re dating. (I also have an angst comic about that of course btw)

Moe makes a note about how Gil felt infinitely more confident as Swish, leading to the alt fem persona. And that’s how Gil consistently works at the tavern and Moe keeps his temper.
