So the name of the product is “Serpessence” - literally “serp” (as in serpent, snake) + “essence”. Essence of snake. “Essence” is often a cosmetological euphemism for oil. In the video (for which I myself have seen only gifsets), Misha mentions he has solicited the advice of “Sweden’s best ophiologists” - ophiologists study snakes.

The reason the snake oil thing is funny?

If anyone would create a fake product solely for the purpose of making oblique sexual jokes and calling himself a quack, it’s Misha Collins.

EDIT: I saw the video and he even said outright that it was 100% snake oil. He’s not even trying to be subtle haha
