It was the creaking of the bed and the presence of someone sitting next to her that awoke her. With a start her heart raced as she sat up. Fear turned to concern as she saw caaldic’s condition. He looked feverish, sweat covered him as she placed a hand on his bare shoulder. His skin was burning! “Are you okay?”
No, he was not. But he gave her a strained smile. Pushing the furs off her legs, she draped them over the edge as his hand rested on hers. His skin was pale, eyes red and he looked like he was in pain. His words of reinsurance did not settle her doubts. “No, you are not.” Gentle she slid her hand out from under his, rising from the bed as she limped her way to her cabinet. Bottles clicked together as she rifled through potions. Trying to find the right one or to at least make him more comfortable.
Dressed only in her shaft, hair messy and face exposed for only him to see. Not realizing how under dressed she was. Where was it? It was right here? Wait, bucket first. It might be on the table. Abandoning her search for the moment, she moved towards a bucket and moved it towards him if his belly couldn’t hold supper down. Not seeing the potion she wanted when she took a glance at the table. She would just have to give him something as she moved towards the cabinet again.
“Lay down, now is not the time to be stubborn.” She had offered the bed easier that night as any host would. But he insisted he would sleep on the floor. after a moment or two search, she found the weak elixir. “It won’t take good but you need to drink it all.”
She would have to brew it, at least she had the ingredients.
