Is the brother in Favourite Uncle the “large and terrifying older brother” referred to in Broken Homes, do we think? The ROL universe has so many inconsistencies. I wish BA could either spend a little more time tying up loose ends or just wrote much longer books that tie up loose ends. @greyhairedgeekgirl @ilikesallydonovan @thebaconsandwichofregret
He’s not described as large and terrifying though? Abigail says “that was nothing, you should meet my brother” when Lesley describes the arrival of the Thames gods as “emotionally manipulative…world class”. That’s the only mention of Abigail’s brother in that book.
The man who sells her the charm talks about “your large and terrifying brother”…referring to PETER, who is standing right there with her. Peter is often mistaken for Abigail’s brother/father/etc in the series, for obvious reasons.
In general I find the books to be very consistent/good on continuity, with few minor details and no major ones changing from book to book - the exceptions are things which are completely irrelevant to the ongoing plot and even then I can only think of two persistent ones (the number of siblings in large families, the colour of the Asbo.)
