Batbait (Zürich, Switzerland) has a band website that is definitely going for the 1990s website design look. Great, because the music definitely has a 1990s indie feel to it. Batbait's four members are Simona Bischof, Sandra Keller, Alannah Rüttimann and Gianna Brühwiler. They've been playing music since 2019 and previously released a full-length LP, "Dirty Clothes" in 2022.
I've listened to both songs currently available on "Working in the Garden" and all of "Dirty Clothes", and it's really hard to pinpoint any obvious influences. There are times I would say this trends to Sonic Youth, while other times this is more pop in the vein of Barbara Manning or Susan. Finally, I hear sounds I associate with Life Without Buildings too.
This is being released on Swiss label Irascible Distribution.
Next live show of Halfsilks is coming on Thu 19th at KvU together with BATBAIT ! (pic of Halfsilks at Down by the river by #clydellheidrich)
