My most unique bathroom - EVER!
It's been a big week at our loft renovation in Surry Hills. Installation of the kitchen and bathroom is almost complete, and new light is pouring into the space with the addition of open shelving.
Street Art in the Shower
This has to be the most unique bathroom I have ever commissioned. The picture gallery (click through to see more pics) below shows acclaimed street artists Phibs painting his unique style of street art onto the waterproofed walls in the shower - (that's right, the shower!) one night this week.
It's so satisfying to see the impact that one piece of art can have. I can already sense that the warm colours in this piece of street art will pull together the entire home, adding colour, interest and an infusion of the owners' personality. To make it happen, waterproofing in the bathroom was paramount and a final sealant will be added this week to protect the artwork from water damage.
The feature wall is so striking, just imagine how amazing the very cool black tiling, slick mirrored cabinets and black granite benchtop on the vanity are going to look once full installation is complete next week. More pics of the finished room next week.
Black is Best
I am really pleased with the way that the modern, urban kitchen is coming together. It is looking much more like the kitchen that belongs in this converted factory, with the wooden cupboards adding warmth to the sleek black benchtops and cupboards. The black theme is carried through to the bathroom with black floor and wall tiles from Di Lorenzo, and a black granite benchtop (WK Quartz) on the vanity. The cupboards and vanity in both rooms are extra long to give a sense of space in this relatively small unit.
Coming Up....
The loft will be finished by this time next week. I can't wait to share the pics with you. Stay tuned to see the big reveal in the next week's blog.
