バトンリレーは、チームのメンバーがバトンと呼ばれる棒を順番に受け渡しながら走る競技です。一般的に、各チームには複数のランナーが所属しており、決められた距離を走り、バトンをつなぎながらゴールを目指します。バトンを渡す際には、決められたゾーン内で行わなければならず、正しい方法で渡すことが求められます。バトンリレーは、チームワークや走力、バトンパスなどの技術が勝敗を分ける要素となり、陸上競技の大会や学校の運動会などで実施される人気の競技です。
