The umbrella, when it rains - John, as he is slightly taller. Mary likes to huddle herself close to him.

The popcorn at the cinema - Mary. Even if they both eat it all before the previews.

The baby, when it cries - Both. They take turns each time, but if one is up so is the other.

The ice cream cone, when they share - John. Mary steals licks here or there when she thinks he’s not looking.

The remote, when they sit down to watch a movie - John.

The basket, when they go shopping - Mary, since she mostly does shopping on her own.

The door, on dates - John.

The other’s hand, most often - Mary. She’s very connected and has a deep need to have something solid to hold.
