Poor old Lizzy was put to sleep today

"For being a Pitt-bull type - she's not really anything 'type' just a massive sweetheart ~ somewhere there is a home for every hound. We failed this dog and we needn't. I know that it's hard and there is always a few bad eggs no matter who they are what breed man or animal. And particularly dogs which have become attracted to the type of person that believes that it's ok or cool to have a dog that is a status symbol. But the Pittbull isn't even a breed. It's a cross breed of different types of bull terrier. It is one of the most loving and loyal creatures on the planet. That would do anything for its owner. We need more responsible owners. More awareness and de stigmatising this poor creature. There are too many many many many gentle and loving creatures unnecessarily suffering for the actions of the few because of our ignorance. And it's cruel. One is not all. Every dog has its day. And every dog is different. In this day we ought to know better. We trash anything really. If we can fix the problem or solve a puzzle we discard it and move on. People and animals. Sometimes it's a sensible thing to do in order to survive. But if it was our own. Something or one we loved then we might be open to seeing what we are doing. We would make more of an effort to try to exhaust all options to make a change. Is it the simplest and easiest option to just waste our friends or potential problems or are we just not bothered to find a better way to solve the issue. And if we don't bother what does that say about us. Bye Lizzy for now. I hope I see you on the other side for a play. You weren't a bad dog or anything like the type of 'Devil dog' at all. I could see that the moment I saw you myself. I pray for better ... I pray that you are in a better place now than this you poor bugger. And I pray we learn to be more understanding and humane. Perhaps we are guilty after all of further perpetuating this nonsense and vicious cycle. I'm truly sorry for what we've done to you"

There will be thousands more this year "Like her.. It’s just crazy that they’re not even given a chance and we who love dogs get really frustrated because we can’t do anything about it. One of the worst things as well is that it’s accepted in society that some man can come in and just point at a dog and their life has to end. No real test not really just that looks like a Pittbull - it dies ~ It’s sick.

It’s really nice that i spent some time with her though and at least made her happy for whatever time she had left xxxx but that's ... That's not enough is it ~ not for me and certainly not for Lizzy and other beautiful loving loyal misunderstood and much maligned beautiful creatures just like her. Utter fkn rubbish.

They're magic "Not bad at all ~ anyone worth knowing and loving is a bit complicated but the reward of effort and responsibility is an enduring truthful love. Wake up get responsible earn your rights to make grown up choices ~ don't Palm off your own negligence and immaturity on the one without a voice or a choice. Destroying is not the solution. It's inhumane lazy and should only be a very last resort. We should Tackle the root causes of dog ownership rather than let someone pick up the pieces or turn a blind eye ~ because it doesn't affect you in the immediate it actually does. If we can do it to them and we do it to people too it's not a great day to be asleep. We create this and let it happen because it's easier to ignore due to our busy lives. But it's actually a more insidious reflection of also how we treat one another. People really do need to grow up we all do. Yet another example of our lack of humanity and wasteful behaviour. It's just a dog ... My fkn ass. You can tell a lot about people by the way they treat their own.

"Titch needs a home loads of dogs do ~ Titch is my personal favourite ~ but there's more Patch is a cool dog too and Sidney. Plenty of great bullies and crosses at Battersea. Help rehome and re instate the bullie crossbreeds serious kind dog owners who love really smart characters and loving long term friends and companions. All dogs give back. Thousand fold. Am working on the Missus to have Titch see if you can beat me to it because he needs the break. Great cuddler. Big dog but that doesn't mean he needs a palace. Just a walky cuddles and feeding and a sofa and some mates and love and a bit of common sense :- worth the effort this one has total Tommy golden stamp of approval"
