“Coalossal, Dragapult, Rillaboom, Urshifu...that’s a true blue Galarian team of warriors over there. Feels good to watch ‘em succeed. And man, can it be hard to raise something as powerful and unique as an Urshifu, so that’s empowering to see!”
He could practically feel angry energy from a nearby Timer Ball. “But of course, a soft spot in my heart for Metagross, too.” A soft spot in his heart put there by a Metagross, something he decided not to say out loud,
You should always fear Serperior and Mega Gyarados.
I liked the double Intimidate lead, obviously shut down Verness from the start - I usually leave her in on one drop because I really love leading with her and Axienze and Dragon Dance helps negate it. I predicted he'd go mega that turn and went for Focus Blast, which worked out really well - if you ever doubt Mega Gyarados' amazing bulk, that's a Choice Specs Focus Blast, and it survived. Only just, but still, not a lot of things can survive a spex super effective hit. I honestly thought he'd use Ice Fang on Axienze, that'd be a surefire KO. Maybe he just misclicked? Or he predicted my switch into Henry since he's Grass type, but that's a pretty long shot and either way taking out Noivern would be better. He even could have taken him out with Salamence's Dragon Claw but went for Zen Headbutt instead.
There was no real point to use anything other than Leaf Storm to take out his Gyarados, so Henry got a boost which let him get a beautiful OHKO on Salamence with Dragon Pulse on the next turn. I thought he'd go for Dragon Claw against Axienze, which he did, and either way I was locked into Focus Blast so I switched into Verness and got an attack drop on them both to boot. Decided to not mega yet because I'd risk taking a supereffective hit from Hariyama, and it was a good choice - Close Combat did nothing significant and the drop in Sp.Def let me take him out with Henry's Giga Drain and get some health back all while I set up a Dragon Dance. His Ninetales wasn't Drought, which is weird, but then again he did bring two sand setters. Either way I took it out with Waterfall and finally OHKO'd both Hippowdon and Tyranitar with Waterfall and Leaf Storm. That's a Tyranitar, which hits 150 Sp.Def in sand.
I only used three Pokemon, too. 6-0 victory! GG to the guy if he ever sees this.
