// `u`” I had a really hard time with Lucy’s shoes!!! I’ve never drawn high heels before...
Inktober Pin Up Girls by Netmy Kanani Day 2 - Poison
Careful, she bites.
How I beat the Battle Pike (Gold Symbol) :
Step 1: Copy the team of the Speedrunners
Werster and Exarion both use the optimized teams of Swampert (Starter with only one weakness), Metagross (Powerful Steel Pseudo), and Latios (Legal High SpAtk Legendary)
Swampert moveset: (Item: Leftovers) Surf (HM) Earthquake (Level Marshtomp ahead to 46 to not waste the TM!) Ice Beam (TM) Rock Slide (Move Tutor)
Latios Moveset: (Item: Lum Berry) Psychic (Level Up) Calm Mind (TM) Thunderbolt (TM) Dragon Claw (TM)
Easy Latios-catching Tutorials can be found online.
Metagross Moveset: (Item: Choice Band) Meteor Mash (Level Up) Shadow Ball (TM) Earthquake (TM) Explosion (One-time tutor)
Save before obtaining Beldum to avoid bad natures/IVs!
NOTE: Level everyone up to 50 exactly bc the dumb Hoenn Frontier doesn’t scale properly. Speedrunning the main game should take less than 3hrs if you follow accordingly. Helpful Natures aren’t needed, but just avoid harmful ones (I got careless and accepted a Timid Beldum)
I’m not going to go into EV Training, IV checking, or where to find items/TMs. That stuff can be easily found elsewhere, sorry.
Step 2: Have the maids’ hint translator on hand
Pretty simple- it can be found on Bulbapedia and other places.
Step 3: Which doors to take and when
“It seems to have the distinct aroma of Pokémon wafting around it...” (Wild Pokemon/Strong Trainer + Heal)
Always go on full health! You’ll need the Wild Pokemon for a trick later~!
“I seem to have heard something... It may have been whispering...” (Double Battle/NPC)
If you’re confident you can beat the Double, go for it! It’s fun to get the NPC repeatedly by avoiding other rooms though, anyways.
“Is it...A Trainer? I sense the presence of people...” (Single Battle/Heal)
Always go for this when slightly injured!
“For some odd reason, I felt a wave of nostalgia coming from it...” (Status/Partial Heal)
Go for this when your Pokemon are really low on health, and/or statused already! ALWAYS GO FOR THIS REGARDLESS WHEN YOU’RE IN THE LAST ROOM (Room 13, as the maids call it) BECAUSE BEING STATUSED BY THE ROOM DOESN’T MATTER SINCE THE ROUND ENDS IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARDS. This is the only outcome with no battling, making it a risk-free last room!
Step 4: The Wild Pokemon “Cheat”
So, if you do find yourself on full health in the Wild Pokemon room, what you do, is to keep running around until you find a Seviper. With Latios in front, it’s fast and strong enough to one-shot Seviper with Psychic. This is important, because HEALING ROOMS DON’T APPEAR IF YOU’RE FULLY HEALED, and having even 1pp gone off your Psychic means you’re not fully healed. This will make healing rooms spawn and greatly increase your chances of getting through rooms without a scratch!
Good Luck!
I’ve gotten 5 Gold Symbols in the Hoenn Battle Frontier so far!
Anyone want me to post tips on easy strategies to beat the Pike and Pyramid?
Luck Symbol Earned!
4 down, 3 to go! First off, let me say that Pike Queen Lucy might have gone a bit over the top with the whole Seviper look. I mean, look:
That might be just a tad bit too much...
Anyways, the inside has a battlefield with both water and land on it, something that not even many gyms have. Good opportunities for all types of pokemon, for sure. The battle was 3v3. I think the biggest thing about her style is that she wasn't afraid to take a hit to deal an even bigger one, something not everyone is willing to take.
The first battle was Seviper vs. Nidoking. Although type advantage was on our side, we quickly learned that Seviper was making up for that with raw power. The match was tough, but Nidoking took the victory with a nice Earth Power!
Next up with Milotic! I knew Nidoking didn't have much of a chance, so I switched him out for Ampharos. Of course, Lucy's Milotic was also very strong, and gave Ampharos a good run for his money, even pulling off a Facade after being paralyzed! Thank Arceus for protect! Ampharos barely took the win there.
Next up was apparently a new pokemon: Serperior! I guess sooner or later the lover of the serpentine would have gotten the Unovian grass starter. Of course, I'm very familiar with the pokemon; I've beaten reporteractressrosa's many times before, and I still hand't used my ace yet. Unfortunately, I guess I got a little too cocky... Ampharos and Nidoking were quickly downed (Although Ampharos somehow managed to get in a nice Thunder). You see, her Serperior has the ability Contrary. It's a rare ability for the species, so I normally wouldn't expect it. Basically, when Serperior used Leaf Storm (the grass type equivalent of Overheat), it got stronger instead of weaker. By the time Nidoking was down, Serperior was hitting like a truck! Not to mention, It was able to control the flow of the move pretty well!
Of course, who better to fight an extremely powerful opponent than Mega Lucario! The battle was hard fought, but eventually we figured out how to win! We managed to lead the Leaf Storm back around to hit Serperior, even if Mega Lucario had to take an Energy Ball to do it! It powered itself up so much that it knocked itself out!
And with that, we now have the Luck Symbol! Only 2 more left before I learn where the final Frontier Brain is located!
