TIME HAD FALLEN OFF its track. minutes ticked on by, but the sun was yet to descend below the distant horizon. several yards away, an anxious bus - driver checked her watch, tapping an acrylic nail against its poorly - aged glass face when the hands seemed to move backwards. the bus should have been gone by now - well on its way towards montana, the two of them stowed away upon it. instead, the large vehicle sat still as death, and reality could not abide charlotte’s lingering presence.
* CONT. / @battleust ! the smoke from julian’s cigarette curled into strange, unnatural wisps above their heads. the wind picked up and took hold of charlotte’s unruly hair, pulling it like a scarf ( like a garrote ) around her neck. her hand fluttered uselessly through the knotted strands, her attempt at self - preservation half - hearted at best - as per usual. ❝ i’m not sitting down, ❞ she stated, impatience straining her tone. ❝ i have been looking for you, we have to go. we could have missed our bus. ❞ she watched the ember glow, waiting for him to finish. ❝ if i didn’t know better, i’d say you’re trying to sabotage our own plan. would you hurry up? ❞
