Met with a friend on a platonic art date in the garden of the house she's living in. We tried "Bauernmalerei" ("farmers Painting" if I translate the words itself. I have seen "German volk painting" used also..

Was lost of fun, and very easy with the books I ordered second hand for it. I do need better brushes though 😅

The so called "Farmerspainting" (Bauernmalerei) as i translate it form german to english, was originally developed to imitate the splendor in the churches and to bring it into the farmhouse parlors in Europe, esp. in Austria, Germany, Hungary and Bulgaria i would say.

Idk, returning to art is hard. I signed up for a community art fundraiser for folks especially affected by *waves hands around in American*

Thought I'd try revisiting German/Scandi folk painting (Bauernmalerei and Rosemaling) since they're designed to be something ordinary farmers could do to decorate their spaces. Y'know, all people deserve not only to survive but to enjoy nice things.
