bavec & armand
yippee
me when im not evil
AND i think that’s part of the intrigue when it comes to bavec & armand. as much as bavec is characterized by their choices, so is armand. the choices they made and the ones taken from them. they are mirrors and foils and they both just want to be free of it. but you are never free from what has happened to you, and you are never free from what you’ve done.
for me bavec is so characterized by decision — crippling indecision, sudden decisiveness, a wild struggle between activity and passivity. raised in a community where their whole life is a map ahead of them: their beliefs, their job, their relationships, their marriage, ultimately their death. they know the shape of all of it until they make one choice and another and another and all they have now are choices to make. they are haunted by their decisions; they are elated by them. the power of choice is double edged. they want it and are terrified of it. i feel like so much of this arc has been making plans and then scrapping them and then making more plans and waffling constantly over what to do and how to do it and it rings true to me at least for bavec’s character.
