There is a type of human sub-species that got transformed into animals with the intelligence equal to a wolf's. They were placed on the same planet as the baxas when their planet was under tyranny from a much more superior alien race. Over time, the apes would become domesticated by the baxas, the same way cats and dogs are to us humans. Even after freeing themselves from their oppressors, Baxas still enjoyed the company of their pet apes :D For the baxas who made it to the Piarosic system, this relationship they have with pet apes only fueled the tensions between them and the humans they met there. But (like I said in a previous post) the tensions mostly cleared over time and they're pretty much getting along now
