Ok so instead of doing the things I actually need to do, here’s an updated ref and flats for my mute Atarka shaman, Kuchar.
Kuchar loathes that the humans are ruled by dragons, and practices his shamanism in secret. He is a decent hunter, which spares him from being devoured by Atarka for being “useless.”
He’s pictured here with his bow, but his personal brand of magic is painting animation - since he can’t speak, he communicates and tells stories via paintings done on scrolls made of hide. Kuchar can draw on the land’s mana and infuse his paintings with it, animating them to show a story or to use them in battle; oftentimes he prefers to paint a large bear to intimidate his enemies. In addition, he can also use some minor elemental magics.
I like to imagine him as a part of the Story Circle, entertaining Tamiyo’s children with tales of his homeland. Kuchar has trouble expressing himself well outside of his paintings, so he often seems solemn and unexpressive. He is very serious except when children are involved - he absolutely loves children and lights up when they are happy.
I might still play with the colors some more....I’m not entirely sold on these yet...and I’ll get a backstory/spark ignition page up at some point /sweats
