Summer things
So I'm really bad at these things, but no one follows me so it's fine. This summer I had the incredible experience to walk with incoming freshman as they experienced Baylor for the first time. During all of June, My 13 fellow leaders and myself got to wake up early, greet new students and their families, and welcome them to campus. We would spend the whole day being there to make these families feel welcome and assist them in any way possible. We would go to lunch with them, spend time getting to know them personally, and really being their first connection on this wonderful campus. This went on for about a month. After 10 2-day sessions, we transitioned into Baylor Line Camp training. We were introduced into 35 new leaders that we would be working alongside with. We spent a week getting to know these leaders and become acclimated with what our roles would be in the coming week. After a week of monotonous lectures, we received our campers. We each were given 11 incoming freshman to hang out with, love on, and walk with as they were given a crash course in all things Baylor. I was lucky enough to have a total of 22 campers that I was responsible for, but I really connected with countless students during all of the mindless activities that kept us busy during the day. I will never be able to put into words how this summer has changed my life, or how I have completely fallen in love with my school, but this was a solid try, right?
