¡¡ potential spoiler warning !! this is from my latest wip revolving round the finale of star wars the bad batch because it had me so very devastated & thus i had to begin writing something for it. nothing too heavy here because i don't want to give too much away since this will be posted soon but here's the most recent but i wrote :

' When he next came to, there was a cacophony of noise around him. The exchange of blaster fire resounded throughout the corridors, the signature discharge sounds from the weapons as well as the pinging searing when they struck a bulkhead or one of the crates they were using as cover. The thud of plastoid covered bodies hitting the deck plating from the other side came at various intervals. As did the blossoming alarm of dispatched and armed droid poppers.

He was lent against the unyielding carbon-scored surface of someone's armour, sitting between their knelt legs whilst his upper body laid against the armour of their torso. They were crouched in a kneeling position to shield Crosshair with a bent knee and an arm wrapped around his side as their other hand held a decee that they periodically used to fire over the stacked line of crates they were using as cover. '

It was hours later, when the sea had ran dry of its tumultuous ire, when the waves had ceased their violent churning and the relentless sheets of rain had tapered off to a mere drizzle of drops and unsettled seaspray, that Hornblower found himself in his cabin without recalling his descent from the deck above. Dressed still in his sea drenched clothes, his hat hung limply between his fingers from where his hands rested between his knees. Shoulders drooped and back slumped to the point of strain against the tight, military fashioning of his still buttoned navy coat. Yet heedless was he of it.

Soaked to the bone as he was, his brown curls lay plastered to his head to run rivulets of water down his face and neck. It too dripped off the ends of his cloak, tracing wet lines along the curves of his hands down to the points on his bicorne hat which sat between his palms in intermittent plips to create small puddles beneath him. Their size marked the time elapsed since he’d come to his cabin to sit before the table, unmoved and unable to draw his gaze from where it had remained riveted upon the polished wood of the deck. Even a precursory knock at his door nor click of the door latch ere Doughty entered didn’t rouse an acknowledgement from Hornblower.

this tag game caught me whilst i was dabbling with a hornblower fic wip agskdlflg it's not one of the two main ones i've been working on since those are top gun wips , but i've recently found myself drawn back to my hornblower wips. wonder if my mind has grown tired of the american navy thus it's had me seek out the british navy in a time period i know well xD agsjdkfg && sorry this is more than six lines , i just did two paragraphs since i didn't want to cut the second paragraph in half thus i am tagging more than six people !

'ice tried not to wince at his words once they left his mouth, realising how they could of been taken. a rehire rather than a show of support given maverick’s actions earlier. judging by the slight flinch he could see cross maverick’s features even if it didn't translate into a full bodied movement, the unintentional underhanded meaning hadn't been missed, but instead of close off. maverick tilted his head to the side to look at ice directly, ...'

WIP MEME ( Accepting ! )

Firstly , thank you so much for taking the time to send in not just one rose , but three !! I am not certain if this means three paragraphs sentences for one WIP or one paragraph sentence from three different WIPs , so I’ll just do the one WIP , but I went back a bit in my WIP list to find one that has Nyx & Noct in it because I know you like those two characters !

But please know this isn't currently an active wip & I am not certain when I will finish it , but some of it should see the light of a day I guess ?? & it's of characters you like so that's why I chose this one , so here is some paragraphs from it ! ^^

Milk. Sugar. Any discounted fruit.

The short shopping list was on repeat through Nyx’s head to ensure he kept to it as he perused the shelves of the local corner shop. It was just a few items he needed, but with shift in two hours and with the next three days on, he decided to stop by to get the bare essentials. The rest of his needed groceries could wait until he had time to go to the markets.

His basket already held a bag of rice and two Cup of Noodles. He just needed those last few items then he could run them home, change out of his civvies and into his uniform, then leave with enough time to walk to the Citadel.

Well, that had been the plan until he spotted an out-of-place yet very familiar figure down the aisle.

Despite the low sitting baseball cap that covered a majority of his dark hair, Nyx could easily identify Lucian’s Crown Prince. He stood with another figure who’d become a more frequent sight at his side in the recent months. A school friend of the Prince’s, something Argentum. Nyx, along with all of the posted guards, had received a notice about the boy’s approval to enter the Citadel as well as Prince Noctis’ flat without any trouble nor formal ID. Not something that’d been given to a civilian .

This was outlined to be a four part story with Nyx rescuing Noct & Prompto out of a bad situation ( i don't want to say just in case i do finish then ; i don't want to spoil a major plot point ^^’’ ) which then too doubles as Nyx getting to know Noct better since Nyx is Kingsglaive & not Crownguard thus in my own headcanons isn't around on a more personal level aside from formal events / training thus this story would have them coming to know each other on a more casual level ??? If that makes any sense …

Whilst Nyx’s frame held muscle and a fitness born from taking up the mantle of a hunter back in Galahd, today’s PT training had been gruelling. Probably to weed out the ones that couldn’t put up with not only the physical demands, but those lacking the determination and drive to keep going even when exhaustion had seeped into their limbs and excursion had stolen their breath. And it was only the first day.

Sweat still dripped down the back of Nyx’s neck and down from his temples, his body overheated and craving both respite and rehydration, as the air outside the Citadel held no breeze to allay the heat of an Insomnia summer. Libertus was in much the same state, although he remained flushed and a touch winded. Luche wasn’t any better off than either of them.

But they had made it, they all had met the markers for the day and were feeling proud in spite of the exhaustion tugging at their limbs. It’d been exhausting, yes, but the sense of accomplishment overwhelmed the fatigue. This was the first step towards their goal of helping Lucis defeat Niflheim so they could return to their homes with peace, as well as the returning of the debt owed to the King. Or so Nyx viewed it.

This isn't an active WIP at the moment , but I do like what I had until I lost muse for it , so I went back into my FFXV Kingsglaive wips to find this one because I know you like Nyx , this one is about Nyx’s first week as a new recruit. It's not easy in nearly every way possible.

I really need to step back into writing for kingsglaive , I have so many WIPs for it that need finishing.

5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

uhhh well i don't want to spoil anything because the fic that will have the angstiest ending because it isn't finished yet ^^' but that one will be a very very angsty , so i will just say 'acta non verba' because it's rather angsty ending , more by implication rather that anything that happens because the future holds death for one of the characters no matter what they or anyone else may do. or 'haunted' because the death has already happened & the one left has a flashback to a happier time with the one who died. or 'echoes' because again the deaths have already happened & one the survivors faces the future alone.

6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

'solace' has the happiest ending hands down. although it could be argued that 'drizzle' or 'is worth it' or 'an incident ( disquiet )' has a happy ending as well since they too have a good ending after some sort of turmoil.

7. Do you write crossovers? If so , what is the craziest one you’ve written?

no , i don't write crossovers because i don't think i could handle that amount of stuff ; balancing all the characters , lore , settings , etc. it would just mingle & grow & i wouldn't be able to juggle it all… not saying i am entirely turned off from the idea , just i don't think i would be good at it.

8. Do you write smut? If so , what kind?

no.

9. Do you respond to comments, why or why not?

yes , i try to respond to all comments , but sometimes i cannot find the right words or my mental health makes it difficult to summon the energy to reply. but i am working on doing better !!

10. Have you ever received hate on a fic?

no , not yet & i never hope to receive it. my heart is rather fragile when it comes to my writing.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

no & i never hope to have that happen to me.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

no , my fics aren't that popular to garner the want for translating , but they are always open for it if anyone would want to !

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

no , but i would be up for it if i knew the other author well enough.

14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?

oh this is a difficult question , but at the moment it's wyatt earp / doc holliday or maverick / iceman. i have fallen so much for these ships ! to the point that they will likely be my all time favourite ships , but if you mean the longest ship i have shipped then it is kirk / spock.

15. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

hmmm , i like to think i will finish all my wips , but it’ll likely be one i haven't posted yet. it will remain partially written & never posted forever.

16. What are your writing strengths?

description. i can describe things really well if i may say so ^^’ or at least i enjoy describing things in detail !

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

dialogue. i agonise over writing dialogue so much & every time i write it , truly capturing a characters voice for dialogue is difficult.

18. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

hm , i like to do it because i feel it adds to the character(s) & it brings depth to characters / settings / scenes , an immersion into the world of the story that can be sorely needed since not everything is in english or set in english speaking countries. i feel as an author it too makes me do research & gain a better idea & understanding of what or who i am writing. so it must be done right & with the proper research / knowledge / education given to it , or the best the author can provide in the least. make note of it in the author's notes / end notes of inexperience or sources. do not just use a translator then copy & paste.

19. What was the first fandom you wrote for?

star wars , i wrote a fanfic on paper when i was eight after watching the films ( rots had just been released & my parents finally let me watch the films ) which i made both my parents read so asdfghjkl

20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

at the moment , my top gun & tombstone fics ^^’ which are 'steady' & 'solace' for top gun then 'acta non verba' & 'haunted' for tombstone. i cannot chose between them ! but i too like my star wars the bad batch fics very much ! those are 'fighting chance' & 'drizzle' at present. although if it's not cheating to say so , the story that i am writing currently is likely to be my most favourite. i adore it so much as i am writing it !
