Hey guys, I’m making up a game: repost and name five characters (from any media) that you think your muse would get along with + why. The challenge: none on your list can be characters you have written your own muse with! Meaning that I cannot add Larissa Weems or Wednesday Addams or etc to Ammonia’s list :)
.) Erik (The Phantom of The Opera) - I think I’ve mentioned this in private with some people, but I do believe that Ammonia Mallove would connect quite easily with the Phantom as he is written in the original novel. Both characters have spent their lives incredibly lonely, and fawn + obsess over sources of happiness once they find them. Both act impulsively and express immense guilt when faced with the consequences. Both long to be understood and accepted, even by just one specific person. I offer y’all this idea though: if Ammonia and Erik were to both adore the same person, how would such a confrontation go down? 😈
.) Hermione Granger (Harry Potter) - assuming that they were in school together, Ammonia would have had a friend. First of all, obligatory fuck JKR, trans rights are human rights. That being said, both of these incredibly curious and somewhat know-it-all teenage girls were ostracized as kids and adolescents, and found comfort in reading to cope. With the assumption that a more traditional witch counts as an Outcast in the Wednesday-verse (not just psychics), the two would have even more in common. Having such a close and intelligent friend as a child really would have done wonders for Ammonia’s mental health, I think 🥺
.) The Doctor (Doctor Who) - there are actually quite a few characters from this show I think Ammonia would bond with. Rose Tyler for her compassion and determination, Martha Jones for her empathy and protectiveness, Clara Oswald for her snark and curiosity, etc etc I could go on - but I’m naming the Doctor specifically (and not any certain regenerations) because they have an incredible sense of passion, justice, and appreciation for the sheer art of being alive. Everything and everyone matters. Knowledge and kindness holds more power than weaponry. Every single person is weird - she has a tail? The Doctor didn’t notice, they meet people with tails seventeen times a day. Ammonia would feel so very seen.
.) Mrs. Lovett (Sweeney Todd) - oh I’m so biased towards this one 😭 and here is where Ammonia’s mommy issues are gonna come out. To have a friend who would, yes, be a maternal figure (as Nellie Lovett is an inherently maternal character per her story), and encourage Ammonia’s passions… Ammonia would probably, actually, obsess hardcore over pleasing Lovett even more than she does over Larissa, because Lovett would almost be like the soft and caring and safe mother figure she can bake pies with that she never had as a child (because her actual mother was incredibly disconnected and unsupportive and enough said). I’m just saying -
.) Elphaba Thropp (Wicked) - another character who is discriminated against and misunderstood? Yes ma’am!! They would be best friends. She and Ammonia would be arguably a better duo than any of the others I’ve listed here - because Elphaba cares, painfully, just like Ammonia does, and can’t stay quiet about it, just like Ammonia can’t. They’d be unstoppable. Ammonia may fall in love. They’d study together, protect animals and their environment, simply be the support that they each have been longing for - bonding over shitty family dynamics, reading, simply yearning. Soulmates. Utterly and entirely. Platonically or romantically. My heart!! <3
