A fading memory
It was so shiny at the time. She’d not seen such a new model in all her short years, but she didn’t feel so bad being in awe considering even the adults were as well.
Clinging to her father’s pant leg, she looked up at the massive hunk of steel. The florescent light making it shimmer- a new model of power armor they came up with. She can hear idle chatter about it, even her father’s low voice seemingly rather enthusiastic about the advances made. Asking just when these would be distributed, eager to get his hands on one. But the rest was lost to time. All she can remember is her own intrigue and how cold it was against her tiny fingertips.
“Now now young lady-” There’s a voice, but not her father’s, “You don’t want to topple it over now do ya?” She asks, poking the young girl on the nose. To which she shrinks away silently, clinging ever so tightly to the leg beside her.
“She’s adorable Nathan! So eager to have her own already hu?”
He smiles, mustache twitching only in the slightest.
Kira remembers the way his hand patted her head.
