#LoveLoud changed my heart. I have struggled with homophobic feelings. I've never hated anyone based on their sexuality, and I also have often felt uncomfortable in the presence of people of the LGBTQ community. These feelings could come from being bullied as a kid and being called 'gay' as an insult. It put this strange feeling in me that people who felt this way had something wrong with them. It is something that I am still trying to overcome. But this concert and my time in Jerusalem have shown me the love of God for ALL of His children. The purpose of the LoveLoud music festival is to bring together the LGBTQ community and orthodox religious communities. It also was to show love to LGBTQ youth and raise awareness about youth suicide. It was amazing to have people from all walks of life come speak and perform. It was a place of openness and love. I also had the opportunity to see President Uctdorf today. He was at the football game and I witnessed him ministering to people as Christ ministered. I could see the love in his eyes and he shook hands with this group. Both of these examples today have taught me that I need to love more. Our Heavenly Parents love us. Jesus loves us. We must rely on them if the world is to move from hate to light. I still am trying to figure out how to walk the wire, balancing my conviction of faith and new found sense of openness. As Nephi said, "I know that he loveth his children; nevertheless, I do not know the meaning of all things." #iLoveLoud #BB8inProvodise.
