“Oh Khing please—“ a squeal cut off Wad’s plea. The toddler kept running from her dad, sprinting to the other side of the room, buck naked. Tew hid his face in his husband’s shoulder, trying to stifle a laugh.
“Oh just wait until Maew is three,” Prem said to the couple, “all toddlers are terrible.” Knot adjusted the baby in his arms, who was dozing peacefully despite the chaos around her. “Arthit and Kong’s boys are even rowdier if you can believe it,” Prem finished before blowing a raspberry onto his daughter’s tummy before walking her back to Wad to help her get dressed.
Knot hummed in response. He was glad they could finally get all the kids together. It would be the first time Maew would meet all the kids. Knot was very appreciative he stayed close to all his friends from university into adulthood.
The play dates were a bonus.
The doorbell rang, and Prem hopped up to answer it. He opened the door to see his two exhausted looking friends with two twin boys climbing on their backs and shoulders. Prem snorted before actually greeting them and inviting them inside.
“Joon!” Khing squeaked upon seeing her friend. “Ji!” She squeaked again when his twin came into view. She tried to run up to them, but was unfortunately still being changed by her dad, who had a good grip on the hem of her shirt.
“It’s Moji,” the boy corrected with his thumb in his mouth. He climbed down to the floor before plopping down in front of a set of toy cars on the floor. As soon as Khing was dressed, she was off and running again to give hugs to the twins.
The children’s laughter made Maew stir, finally rousing from her nap. She let out a couple gurgles and coos, which peaked Joon’s interest.
“Aw, who’s that?” He asked, walking right up towards Knot and pulling on his pant leg.
“That’s Maew,” Tew answered, squatting down next to the boy. “She’s your new cousin.”
