BBC Buggy Grab Arm Kit (1985) by Economatics, Sheffield, UK. "The Buggy Grab Arm allows your Buggy to pick up and carry objects up to the size of a paper coffee cup! Powerful software allows you to build and modify programs, while use of motor current feedback allows Buggy to detect whether an object is within its grasp. The Grab Arm is operated by three small dc motors to give separate control of lift and closing actions. Current feedback on the grab motor allows the computer to measure and repeat the closing force. The Grab Arm kit includes the necessary additional circuit board which can be used to control alternative mechanisms fitted to the Buggy if required, and analogue sensors can be used with the Grab Arm in position. The Grab Arm is easily assembled and fitted to the Buggy and is supplied complete with user-friendly software for rapid testing and easy editing of Buggy Grab Arm programs."
