I’ve said this before and I will say it again: Gwen suffered too much, they went too far.

The Dark Tower is probably the episode I hate the most. Gwen was being mentally tortured, and it was painful to watch. Plus, Elyan died, leaving her with no family (besides Arthur but that’s different) and with all that grief. I hate how much she suffered throughout the show. She has suffered so much and it’s so unnecessary. And after she became Queen, during season 5, she wasn’t present at all and the only storylines she got were the evil Gwen storyline when she was being controlled by Morgana, and the dark tower episode she was being tortured. I don’t know if I’m forgetting another Gwen storyline but I don’t think so.

The way she was treated was really unfair and cruel, and the fact that in s5 she’s only there to uplift Arthur, or to be used by Morgana to destroy Arthur, instead of letting her be herself and be happy, is really horrible. I love Gwen, alright? She’s the best character and I just love her so much, so I was extremely disappointed by how she was treated, especially in season 5

the way gwen never got to grief and have trauma for more than one episode like the other mains did...it’s one episode (of it happening) then we’re over it.

hey, i’m trying to see something

am i the only one that feels like Gwen’s character massively changed after she became queen? As if she lost importance and like she wasn’t as present as before, and was way too formal with Arthur ?

I still love her!! Don’t get me wrong, it’s just, I feel like they didn’t treat her with the respect and care she deserves, like the writers started to leave her out, and the whole evil Gwen storyline just didn’t sit well with me, considering how much she had already suffered

And I know that obviously going from being a servant to being the queen is a huge change in her life, and everything about her life is different, it comes with a great responsability and a lot of power, but still, it bothers me. I miss her and I miss her friendship with Merlin which also changed. In fact, I can’t remember if they even talk in this season, they probably do but the fact that I can’t remember that at all says something
