Welcome, y’all! Whether you follow me on instagram or just happened to stumble across my page, I’m glad you found me. I’m 22 years old and am currently finishing up college in North Carolina (this picture was taken in one of my favorite gems of the state)!
Up until a few years ago, I was always very active. I played several sports in high school and always loved being active and fit. Long story short, I got into a relationship and quickly lost focus, forgetting to prioritize myself and my health. Because of that, I’ve gained a lot of weight and am trying to get back to a point again where I feel healthy and happy with myself. That relationship has since ended and I’ve been working constantly to bring my focus back on myself.
I’ve tried the fad diets and so many different workout programs that I’ve lost count. What I failed to realize is that diets aren’t sustainable. They’re meant for short term and, unfortunately, are usually so over the top that you can’t continue that lifestyle infinitely. I’d “yoyo” and lose weight and then gain it all back because I couldn’t keep up with the fads.
Since the start of the New Year, I’ve had a huge mindset shift. I’ve spent a lot of time researching and gaining knowledge on healthy lifestyles and the proper way to eat to fuel my body. My relationship with food is very different and now I focus on foods that make me feel good and clean and energized in the healthiest way. THIS is a lifestyle that I can sustain.
I’ve also started the BBG program by Kayla Itsines. Her Sweat App started a 12 week challenge on 1/14/2019 and I am going through BBG 1.0 currently. While I’m only a week in, I feel more confident in my abilities already (my week 1 thoughts are all in a blog post to follow, don’t worry).
By following my blog, you’ll be following me through my fitness journey, while I bring myself back to a healthier life and mental space. I promise to keep this genuine and real and to always share the most honest thoughts possible. Because trust me, this shit is HARD and we’re all just out here trying our best.
