"E-Eska...? Is that... you?" The child certainly looked like her daughter, but... Eska was a grown woman, not a tiny child. Was this some trick of the spirits? Or was she simply losing her mind?
"Yes, it's me," said the little girl, staring up at her mother. "I ran into some spirits ."
"They made me a little girl because they were still angry about Father, which I think was rude."

"Your hair is pointy. It would probably hurt to be poked by your hair. Does your hair grow that way, or do you make it be pointy?"

Eska nibbled on her finger, trying to sort her thoughts into a cohesive sentence.
"We call you my cousin, but you are not really my cousin, your father is my father's cousin and we are their children. So I asked my father about that, and he said that you are my second cousin. And I asked who the first one was and he said it was Korra. But you are older than Korra is, so that makes no sense. You should be the first one and she should be the second one. Additionally, you are nicer than she is anyway, so you ought to outrank her.
