“It’s funny.” She shrugs, swerving in her seat to face the other girl, making sure Leah can see her lips as she speaks, mentally adding the concept of learning sign language to something she’d like to do eventually. “You’re the youngest in the advanced classes, and yet more competent than the older ones. Does he drive you insane?” She’s talking about Flash, of course. She’ll be surprised if Leah doesn’t catch on, but then again, she’s seen her hanging out with Peter a few times.
It’s hard to know Peter and not catch on when someone is referring to Flash Thompson.

☀️- Overheated
Peter is doing whatever he can to battle the heat, but it’s not really working. After a freezing cold winter, he doesn’t exactly expect the early HEAT WAVE that comes to New York City as the summer months begin to approach, not exactly prepared for it. Maybe he should have checked the weather forecast, because now he’s walking down the street with a not-so-light jacket, his backpack slung over his shoulders. At one point he stops to take it off, clutching the jacket in his arms, but it doesn’t help. Sweat is clinging to his forehead, and he’s growing dizzier the more he walks.
Normally, he might not be so affected by this temperature, but he’s currently making his way home from PATROL. Normally he’d swing back, but he’d made sure not to forget his backpack this time, and Mr. Stark told him it’s probably a BAD idea to crawl into his bedroom window as Spider-Man.
It’s fine, it’s cool, everything’s good, he just needs to walk a few more blocks and then he’ll be home. That’s nothing, right? Except it FEELS like a lot, and soon enough he can hardly keep himself upright, stumbling as he walks. At some point, he LOSES his balance, and as if she knew what was about to happen, someone familiar is by his side, catching him as he leans to the side. “Leah–” He mumbles, blinking a few times and hoping the ache in his head will go away– his skin is definitely burning to the touch. “Uh– hey! What’re you doing here?”
She had definitely had too much to drink. Especially considering her size. The brunette leaning onto her friend and letting him lead her along. "Peebee, Peebee. Are we going home now?" (bbyscience, to have more fun with pbp's initials)
@bbyscience // random asks (always accepting)
Going to this party had been a…well, Peter isn’t SURE if it’d been a good or bad idea. He…thinks he had a fun time? It wasn’t exactly terrible. More like standing around with a cup in hand ( soda, by the way, he definitely wasn’t looking to get accidentally drunk again ), awkwardly shuffling between crowds of people, and trying to ignore how much the blaring music hurts his ears. But towards the end, he finds Leah, who’s DEFINITELY had way too much, and who Peter is immediately inclined to help.
He puts a careful arm around her, letting her rest her weight on him as he leads her out of the crowded rooms of the house. But he can’t help bursting into LAUGHTER the moment she speaks. “Peebee, huh? Not gonna lie, it’s got a nice ring to it! And yeah, yeah, we’re heading home. Actually, you’re coming to my place, and staying over for the night. I’m sure May’ll be fine with it, we’ll just have to– um, tell your dad.”
can i sleep here tonight? (bbyscience)
@bbyscience // into the spider-verse meme
“Yeah, ‘course you can.” Who would he be if he said no to his friend sleeping over? Well, unless he couldn’t that night, but he definitely can, so the answer is an immediate YES. May isn’t exactly home, but Peter is confident that she’ll be okay with it. She’s a cool aunt after all, and she likes Leah. Besides, after the two of them have been working on a project together for hours, they’re both completely BEAT. No point of Leah heading home if they can just pass out right here, right?
“I’ll just– text May and let her know.” His speech is interrupted with a yawn, glancing towards the papers laid out in front of them. “We got a lot done– we can prob’ly put this away for now and maybe put on a movie or something?”
“You asleep?” (bbyscience)
@bbyscience // soft sentence starters
“No,” Peter admits, his voice a low whisper. He’d known tossing and turning every few minutes would catch her attention eventually. As tired as he usually is, sleep often evades him at times. Even in complete darkness, he can still hear the buzz of the city outside. Cars passing by below them, the lights outside the window, even the chatter of people walking across the sidewalk sometimes. It keeps him awake, keeps his brain buzzing, along with a few recent, dangerously close to ending horribly, fights he’s been in.
“Did I wake you up?”

21. Your muse has suddenly sprained an ankle and can’t walk.
Gym class sucks. Most people seem to like it, but Peter never has. At least he can do the physical activities much better now, but that doesn’t cancel out everything terrible about the class. For one thing, his senses usually end up going INSANE. When passing cars or being snuck up on by people he doesn’t know alarm them, it comes as no surprise that volleyballs and basketballs and whatever else they might be throwing around the gymnasium make a heavy PRICKLING dance across his skin every single time, especially when everything is going in different directions. It leaves his stomach churning, and has pushed him right into sensory overload a fair few times. And then there’s the whole locker room issue. He doesn’t even change out in the open, instead going to the bathroom for multiple reasons, but he knows people think he doesn’t belong there.
Seems like it also sucks for other people too.
They’re playing soccer out on the field, the cold air whipping against Peter’s skin. Soccer is a lot more tolerable, giving that there’s only one ball on the field. He does end up zoning out at one point, though, and the next thing he knows, the teacher is blowing the whistle and he’s pulled back into reality, just in time to see Leah on the ground. Oh shit. He doesn’t think for another moment before jogging over, wide-eyed and concerned. One of the teachers tells someone to take her to the nurse. “I’ll do it!” Peter offers immediately, bending down to help Leah up. It takes some effort, but he’s able to get them off the field.
“What happened? I didn’t see.”
