"Eggman!" Team Sonic and Team Powers had both joined up against the evil doctor, who had an army of robots larger and stronger than his previous ones. "Call back your robots, and cease your attack." Shadow warned, arms crossed over his chest in his stance. IT looked relaxed, but Shadow was tense, prepared to jump into battle. "Before we destroy them and stop your reckless plan by force." Eggman merely smirked. "Hah! These are no simple robots! They-!" "Enough talking!" Racing in with his signature speed, Sonic spin-dashed at one of the robots, gasping in shock when he rebounded off of it and slammed into the ground. "Woah!" "Sonic!" The azure hedgehog was extracted out the way just in time as a large metal foot impacted the ground where he was moments ago. "Shock!" A black cat cried out, a string of yellow electricity zapping out her gloves and at the same robot. It did little damage, the robot's armor smoking slightly. "What are these-?!" "If I can finish." Eggman huffed, running his gloved fingers through his mustache. "Thse are the strongest robots I've ever built, made to withstand all of your special powers! Their armor is the strongest metal on this island! Force shields prevent Chaos Power and Electricity from frying their circuits! Their weight prevents mind powers from lifting them!" He chuckled, smirking at the teams. "What are you gonna do now, heroes?" Silver growled softly, clenching his fists. "We're gonna fight and find a way to win, Eggman! We'll never give up!" "Nice words Silver." "I'd love to see you all try."

Johnny sat on the ground when Ed returned, supplies in hand. Johnny raised an eyebrow, “I don’t think that’s gonna dig us out of this dang ditch.” 

Ed stuck a marshmellow onto the stick, “It’s gonna help, trust me.” Johnny sighed and stuck his chin in his hand, “This more bad than detention with a teacher who ain’t a quick napper. It’s been 5 flippin hours-” His short rant was cut off by the sound of Ed loudly blowing something out. Johnny looked up to see Ed taking his charred marshmellow off the stick and putting it onto pre-prepared graham crackers with chocolate. Johnny erupted, the flames on his back rising higher, “That ain’t helpin’ me at all!”

Ed took a bite out of the s’more, speaking with his mouth full, “I never said it was going to help you. I was hungry.”

I never thought I'd get here, Looking at the waves upon waves on your head Looking at your gentle curves At your caffeine hue that always revives me I never thought I'd be blessed,  To be privileged with your smile. Your cute stubbornness. Your passion in everything in the east. I never thought that I'd fall in love like this. To be picked up from where I was in my lowest. From the point I was about to give it up. To just say f*ck it all and throw away my progress. I never thought I'd be so grateful. With you making me proud of myself. Making me love myself. Shadow sighed heavily as he skated through town, fiddling with the lollipop stick in his mouth to distract himself. He was aware of the looks he was getting, his reputation still not being good despite his turn around from his previous behavior.

There was a reason he was in the town, as much as he wanted to go home. He and Anna were lacking in a few things, and he'd been tasked in getting them.

Shadow quietly swore that Anna just wanted him to get out of the house more.

"Hey Shads!" A voice called, and Shadow groaned. 'Of course Faker had to be here.' Ignoring his counterpart, Shadow skated past two shops, eyes narrowed for a specific one. Until something caught his eye.

"Woah! Give a hedgehog a heads-up!"

Not paying the azure any mind, Shadow backed up until he was stood in front of a new-looking shop, the windows filled with something that raised his mood considerably.

There was a banner held up across the top of the door, the background a soft lilac while the lettering was a striking yellow.

"Sweet Shazams! Everything you want!"

Sonic grinned. "Oh yeah, this place has been getting ready to open for a few days, one of the biggest sweet shops known!" He wasted no time activating his skates. A grin wider than Sonic's formed on his face as he skated through town back home. "There's a candy store in town now-"

WIP Wednesday

It’s been a hot minute since I posted much

But I thought I’d share since I am actually still writing and managed to remember that it’s Wednesday-

A tortured groan left Nightshade's voicebox at the reminder, the young scientist falling back to sit with their arms supporting them. "Do not even remind me. Do not get me wrong, Bumblebee is a wonderful mentor, and an excellent teacher. But the training he forces myself and my siblings to endure could make even the most patient of beings want to turn and walk away." They grinned when Sam burst out laughing, chuckling alongside her. "Do you wish to know what we've been doing?" 

"You have to tell me now!" Sam managed, calming to giggles. "It must be horrendous for you to be complaining about it!" 

There was a beat of silence, Nightshade grinning the whole time, before they finally broke it with "Scouting. Without gadgets!" 

The laughter from both human and Terran echoed slightly, Nightshade calming first and watching Sam with amusement as they tried to calm herself. "I mean, I understand the need to work without hand held tech, as they can be easily lost or damaged. But Hashtag's limitless internet, camera and ability to hack anything? And my own night vision, and enhanced vision? 'Nope, not allowed!'." Their grin widened when Sam only laughed harder, humming 'innocently'. "Is something I said funny?"

It was impossible. It defied everything, he knew it couldn't possibly be happening. It had to be some fucked up trick by Eggman, a way to get him and Anna to crumble and weaken, a way to stop them from stopping some plan.

He could still hear the gunshot echoing through the room, he could still envision her blue dress stained red with blood, her weak voice begging him to keep a final promise.

But yet, it was real. There was no doubt about it. Eggman may have known a detail here, some information there, but he didn't know everything.

The doctor didn't know her voice, her looks, the smile that warmed up any room, the blond hair that would fall over her face and would get brushed back.

Yet...

"Shadow? Anna?"

The Aftermath

A friend gave me a word count of 500 words. I nailed it.

They'd done it.

New York was safe, the Kraang were trapped in the Prison Dimension again, and Leo was back with them. Injured, but alive. 

Mikey had opened the portal that had saved their brother with his own bare hands.

Raph had reached in with his ninpo, had pulled Leo back to them and out of what could have been his final resting place.

He'd hit back Kraang Prime with his Bō and Ninpo before the creature could get his grimy hands on his brother one last time.

At least, he thought he did. It was a fuzzy memory, everything was after the Technodrome. He'd been forcibly ripped from the controls, from where he'd been melded into the ship itself, forced to watch one brother fight another while he hung uselessly like a broken puppet. He'd been forced to hear his twin's order to close the portal with him on the wrong side, to sacrifice himself to save the world. 

He could remember the falling tears. They'd felt so foreign, so off, so strange. He hadn't realized he'd been crying until he felt the wetness drip down his cheeks. 

He didn't cry often. 

But Leo was safe. The dum-dum had even cracked a joke before promptly passing out on them. 

He would have panicked if numbness hadn't taken over. 

'Leo was okay', Raph had assured him though his own panic. 'He's just tired, and in desperate need of the medbay.' 

Relief had hit him so hard it covered the numbness, forced his knees to buckle. Exhaustion had hit only moments after.

Leo was okay. 

Someone was gently shaking his shoulders, and he jolted away from the touch like someone had poured acid on his shoulders, opened his eyes that he never remembered closing, only to see Raph hovering over him with a look of worry. 

"Dee, I need you to stay awake for me, okay? Can you do that?" 

Why should he though? Leo and the world was safe. He wanted to sleep. 

His silence must have been taken as an answer, and he was being gently picked up, carried, and he hissed at the physical contact. 

"Mikey, call April. Dee's out of it." 

He wanted to scoff. 'I am not!' He wanted to argue. His beak opened, but no words came out. None wanted to.

"I've got a job for you, okay? Keep an eye on Leo, tell me if he gets any worse. Can you do that for Raph?"

He nodded, but his eyes slipped shut against his own will.

His head was starting to hurt, the dull ache in his shell had amped up to a searing pain, and he was so tired. 

"No Dee, keep your eyes open for Raph. Come on bro, don't do this to Raph!"

He tried his best to follow his big brother's order, but then they were suddenly moving, and each step, each movement hurt. 

"He's in shock-!"

Mikey's worried voice was all he heard before he fell into the void.
