Drove all the way up to Kelowna for this but it was sooo worth it. American Avocet, Black-necked Stilt, Greater Yellowlegs, Lesser Yellowlegs, Red-necked Phalarope, Barn Swallow, Cliff Swallow, Northern Shoveler and Cinnamon Teal. Some new ones for the year and some lifers!
Just popped down quickly to Road 22 because someone sighted some American White Pelicans there yesterday, sure enough, there was still one lone bird remaining. Thats a BC lifer for me. In addition a big flock of snow geese flew overhead so that's another one for the year list!
YAY!! Heard the first Poorwill of the year! Now to go catch him! Field season officially begins now!
Nothing spectacular but added Northern Rough-winged Swallow and Sharp-shinned Hawk to the year list.
Relatively quiet day for birding except for the AWESOME Great Gray Owl we saw high up in a snag. Definitely a lifer for me and just a really cool bird
Another somewhat unproductive birding trip, however did see a lovely Ruffed Grouse which is a lifer for me!
Latest checklist on eBird up at Wagonwheel Road looking for Great Gray Owls, no luck on the owls but saw a bunch of other neat birds like a pair of Williamson's Sapsuckers.
