Free Guy Reaction

Just watched this in theatres. Oh my gumdrops, it was awesome. BCLPST rating. (MY OWN OPINIONS.) Minor spoilers, but not where they spoil the movie.

(visual) Beauty: My goodness, the visual effects are stunning! Especially when it comes to game mechanics, but from the game’s point of view. Oh and the  architecture is great! 10/10

Characters: Guy is very likeable and I enjoy many of the other characters too. Not as much as other movies, but still very good. 9/10

Laughter: Very funny. Many laughs all throughout. Especially regarding Dude. 10/10

Plot: Amazing plot that tackles certain aspects I haven’t seen in other movies! It’d hard to explain without spoilers. Oh and I loved the many references and jokes. 10/10

Soundtrack: Okay. So. I personally don’t enjoy the overuse of the song “Paperman”. It’s a beautiful song, but it was hard to focus because I love the short film “Paperman” so my mind does a double-take. And they used it too much throughout the movie. Christophe Beck makes amazing music and could’ve made a unique song for Free Guy. Also, my favorite song in the movie (from the bridge scene) isn’t available anywhere except a thrown together Youtube audio. So that makes me sad. ;^; Otherwise solid soundtrack.  8/10

Tears: I almost cried, but not quite. But, it made someone important to me cry, when they usually don’t, so extra points for that! 9/10

Final total: 57/60 = 95% Harmony Points

I will say I didn’t like the one use of the f-word that was unnecessary and in a confusing placement, and a scene where a player made a lot of uncomfortable jokes and gestures, which was also unneeded.

Movie Rant

I realized I have a weird taste in movies. Unpopular opinions: I liked Mars Needs Moms and didn’t like The Polar Express. A hated movie versus a classic. Let me explain.

How I remember movies: Visual Beauty, Characters, Laughter, Plot, Soundtrack, Tears

Mars Needs Moms: Rented on Redbox when it first came out (nearly a decade ago). Watched it three times within 24 hours because I liked it so much. I remember laughing and crying every time, and I loved the characters. I liked the soundtrack, (I mean, come on, John Powell) and was intrigued by the plot. Don’t really remember the visuals well, but I was caught by every second of it, I think. Haven’t seen it since, but want to. Maybe I’ll still like it, maybe I won’t.

The Polar Express: Watched once or twice every year since 5th grade. Haven’t seen it in 3-4 years because of college and my family watching it without me this year. Don’t remember any characters. Didn’t laugh or cry. Visuals and soundtrack were good, but I can’t remember any plot. Was scared of the train conductor and only remember a scene with reindeer surrounding the train and I think a kid being pulled by his hair to scream and scare the reindeer away. No strong emotions towards it.

Abominable Reaction

I’ve seen this movie before, but just watched it again. Abominable can be watched on Hulu.  BCLPST rating. (MY OWN OPINIONS.) Minor spoilers, but not where they spoil the movie.

(visual) Beauty: Extremely GORGEOUS! I can’t explain how many scenes I was just in awe of the color and vibrancy! 10/10

Characters: All of the characters are really likeable in one way or another! 10/10

Laughter: The humor was just my type. Anything from references to character interactions. It’s easy to laugh throughout the movie. Family friendly, even my dad laughed. 10/10

Plot: Pretty good plot. I guess I couldn’t remember most of it since the last time, but I like it. Heartfelt and nice. 9/10

Soundtrack: Yes yes yes. I love the incorporation of violin and even a soft song from Coldplay asdfghjkl. Even my brother said the soundtrack was awesome. 10/10

Tears: I mean, I cried the first time I saw it? My brother was talking too much this time for me to cry. The movie is still emotional deep though and I like it. 8/10

Final total: 57/60 = 95% Harmony Points

Over the Moon Review

Over the Moon can be watched on Netflix. BCLPST rating. (MY OWN OPINIONS.) Minor spoilers, but not where they spoil the movie.

(visual) Beauty: Absolutely GORGEOUS! Even my brother was talking about how they went above and beyond using animation terms I don’t know yet. Optic fiber something? It was just beautiful! Everything from the lighting to the compositions and the softness and vibrancy! 10/10

Characters: I did like the characters! My favorite was Bungee! But I’m also a sucker for cute animal companions. One small thing that threw me off was Fei Fei’s voice actor. don’t get me wrong, they fit her well. But some lines just seemed either overdramatic or a different tone than what fit the scene. It got better throughout the movie. 8/10

Laughter: Yes, I did laugh. Quite a lot in fact! Especially because of Chin’s antics! He was just a fun little child. Especially his wall “superpower” XD. 9/10

Plot: I liked the plot! Not my favorite, but it was easy to follow and interesting. 8/10

Soundtrack: Beautiful and deep! By deep, I mean it makes feelings arise up in your heart. Very good. 10/10

Tears: Yes, I cried. Especially in the void scene. You know the one. I didn’t cry as much as other movies, but it was good. 7/10

Final total: 52/60 = 86% Harmony Points (dunno what to call them)
