Why Big Cat “Rescue” is lies
Juan from BCR-watch did a FANTASTIC job replying to someone saying BCR's enclosures are well made and a bunch more.
It's a quick fact-summary of the lies and evidence of Big Cat Rescue.
I ask for you to look through this and go through the links.
This is his reply, which can be found on the fb page BCR-watch:
They are cheaply built and many facilities would agree. Want to know how lazy they are at building the enclosures? They are so lazy that they don’t even bother to grind down the sharp metal points on the cat’s cages. http://www.bcrwatch.com/.../6/8/1/26816874/1720447_orig.jpg
The report below even says, “During a thorough examine of the feeding area, several barbs on the wires surface were located, this occurs during the manufacturing process. These sharp burrs may have caused the minor injury that Lt. De Lacure observed during his interview with Messineo. It should also be noted at throughout the entire facility there are sections of wire fence that have very sharp edges and this is also addressed in the release from liability form that each person must sign prior to entering the grounds. Signage is also present in many area's ref leaning on the wire.” http://www.bcrwatch.com/.../fwsw16off002976_-_report.pdf
It seems as though Big Cat Rescue didn’t even replace the cage they conducted their test on as indicated by an email Howard Baskin sent to the FWC. Howard said, “We likely could have gone a fair bit further but felt this was sufficient to address the issue and of course did not really want to damage the cage.” Could it be they didn’t want to damage the cage because it was still in use to house a big cat? Wood can hold back a tiger but that doesn’t necessarily make a good enclosure. Big Cat Rescue doesn’t even use poles to give the cages extra strength.
There is rust on the cages as a 2014 inspection report points out.http://www.bcrwatch.com/.../bigcatrescuebaskincarolrou110...
All zoos exploit animals for profit. They use their animals to generate money don’t they? Also I’m not against facilities using animals for money as long as it’s done right. I just point out hypocrisy and use Big Cat Rescue’s own arguments against them. Big Cat Rescue seems to be against all zoos as their 20 year plan showed.http://web.archive.org/.../www.../20yearplan.htm
Even the Tumblr blog you follow is starting to see that since the author said,
“Perhaps what has been most disappointing for me personally, is that Big Cat Rescue also released a vague, non-specific statement: “When Tigers Kill Keepers.” This was a terrible, awful, distasteful move on their part. The day after the incident. There was no time allowed for grieving and really not even half an attempt to offer condolences. Just immediately jumping to the anti-zoo stance. I 100% do not support this move on their part, nor do I support their gradual increase onto the anti-zoo front. It was a terrible PR decision and as a facility that is very close to my heart, it was very sad and disappointing for me to see.”
You can even see Big Cat Rescue’s and Carole Baskin’s anti-zoo stance here: https://www.facebook.com/bigcatrescue/posts/10153445036246957

That’s the definition of exploitation. They are taking advantage of his sad story for publicity and donations. Don’t lie. You don’t care where there animals are coming from. Where did Sassy come from?http://bigcatrescue.org/sassy/ Sassy was born at Big Cat Rescue just in case you didn’t know.
Before we called them out on it, Big Cat Rescue hid the true stories of many of their cats that were born at their facility. Jumanji’s biography never said he was born at Big Cat Rescue until after I made a video and blog about it.
Many people who care for cats such as tigers will tell you that it doesn’t cost $10,000 per year to care for them. In 2014 Big Cat Rescue raked in close to $3.5-million while only about 18% of all that money went to animal care. That number should be even less since Big Cat Rescue lumps in educational programs with animal care. http://www.bcrwatch.com/.../how-much-money-went-to-the...
Again, that’s a lie. Big Cat Rescue attacks other facilities by putting them on their 911animalabuse website. They send their followers to cyber-bully Facebook pages and businesses. If they are against animals being used for entertainment why do they proudly display Jack Hanna as a celebrity visitor? http://www.bcrwatch.com/.../guest-writer-jack-hanna...
The cats also don’t need paint. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNL-KeDlPAc
The cats also don’t need to be scratched. http://videos.videopress.com/.../scratchinglittlefeather...
I assume the only reason Big Cat Rescue isn’t hands on is to prevent lawsuits. After all, they did use to put the public in danger and had no qualms about it.
