Half dog half wolf who's an outcast and tries to act like he's just a dog and pass of his wolfish traits and gets ostracized for the wolf side?

Who tries to save everyone but still then gets attacked because he isnt right?

Who gets wolves trying to connect with him throughout the movie and yet keeps isolating himself from both sides?

The line 'not a dog. Not a wolf. If only he stopped looking at what he is not and instead could see what he IS'

The line 'a dog could not make this trip alone. But, maybe, a wolf can' followed by him being able to overcome awful odds by accepting his wolf side. His wolf paws helping him get up the cliff and his howl having the town's lights turned back on.

Saving the day and still flinching away from the first show of affection because what if they were going to hurt him again, only to get acceptance instead.

Yeah, Rumi would bawl.

Reading Blood Meridian feels weird sometimes because of the writing style you constantly forget who is in the gang right now or which characters are present in which sceans (that is at least something that I have problem with). And when I started reading the book I was constantly forgetting that The Judge is here with the gang and so I was getting jumpscared every few pages.

So it usually goes somehow like

Book: The gang rode through the desert. It was warm and so everyone were sweaty, dirty and smelly but at least the landscape was beautiful. Also The Judge was here too and-
