Learning from Trade Fairs: Contrary Mary Designs at BCTF

At some point, we all consider applying for a stand at a trade fair. If you’re like me, and hate cold-calling potential galleries, it’s a great way to meet your ideal buyer. I took the plunge fairly recently and I’ve just got back from having a great time at the British Craft Trade Fair (a must, even just to visit). I thought I’d jot down a few things that I’ve found useful – those of you who took part in BELAY will remember that Craft Mentor, Laura Slater did a great talk on preparing for trade fairs. I’ve also woven in some great insights from the BCTF Breakfast Club.
