Exciting things to come...
Development from pencil sketches to include typography to banner shape.
BEER FESTIVAL POSTER
Although not my style of design, BCUSU needed a quick poster design to start printing and sending out for advertisements for the bank holiday weekend! I decided as the deadline was on the day that I incorporate quite a generic sign using western typefaces, wooden textures and a vectorised style poster.
It gets the information across clearly and is easy to read for the audience.
PUB CLUB
T-shirt branding for Pub Club night at the Eagle & Ball pub within University are getting put to good use! It’s nice to see something I designed out in the open!
Had a meeting today with Jo Goodman who's the student voice member of the BCUSU. I sent her a message after finding the ‘mental health campaign team’ on Facebook to ask if i could meet with her to discuss how i could help be a part of the team.
The meeting went really well and i went in with a number of questions and ideas , such as;
Whats already planned to talk part during the week?
Is there already a creative member of the team i could collaborate with?
Whos in charge of the social media?
Is there a change i could have my own stand and to use the Diary Room feature
Is there a style guide i need to follow for BCUSU posters?
From the meeting Jo was able to tell me what was planned for this week, such as they have collected a range of companies to come into the uni campus, to give out guidance and freebies etc. Also i showed her my initial ideas and said i would be able to carry my ideas out everyday of Mental Health Week, using the Diary Room feature. I showed her my mock ups of the posters and she especially liked my logo design and has asked me to send them her to update the social media page.
This is a excellent step forward in my Mental Health Awareness campaign for my FMP and i can now start being creative in the posters and materials i make for the MHW taking part on the 16th-22nd May.\
Im glad i persisted in getting in contact with the Students Union and even though I've been rejected twice, i have now found the contact i needed and my project can be completed!
