miles is careful with his touches, despite the shakiness in his hands. one hand settles lightly on talbot's shoulder & the other guides upward, pressing the washcloth gently into the wound that blood seeps out of along talbot's cheek. he doesn't know why he's as shaken by it as he is — it isn't the first, second, or even third fight that he's seen talbot in — & he's trying (& failing) to not let his worry bleed through onto his expression.
"sorry." he murmurs, assuming that the antiseptic that's soaked into the cloth stings a little. his worried gaze flickers all over talbot's bruised features, a heaviness settling in his chest. he tries to tell himself that it isn't tal's fault that he gets so angry & picks fights with people he probably shouldn't, but it doesn't ease the anxiety. he's afraid one day it'll go too far.
"how's my nursing skills?" his voice is soft still, tone more lighthearted than before. a light smile tries to tug at the edges of his lips, but it doesn't quite touch his eyes in the usual way that it does. that anxious knot in his stomach won't loosen. "do you want me to get some pain meds?" he follows up, patting gently against the cut to soak up the blood before reaching for the first aid kit open on the bathroom counter to grab a bandaid. (pokemon themed, of course.)
