throwing my two cents in on the hannibal label debate. if we want to go all the way serious, my professional assesment as a fellow weird intellectual bisexual is that hannibal would very much not call himself any label but superficially play around with all those old timey slightly homophobic literary & artistic conceptions of homosexuality while professing that human sexuality should boundless as morality etc etc BUT on the inside he'd think of gay relationships as the good old erastes/eromenos dychotomy (proof= achilles & patroclus comparisons) but layered with weirdly esoteric & religious reading of psychanalisis
