After Taka, Simba made sure to take all of his employees out when they got hired, to get to know them. To make them feel like part of the InterPride family. (The Pride, if you would, ha.)
Technically, Simba was no longer a boss.
Technically, Ed Goldberg was not his employee.
But, Simba was on the Board and still heavily involved in all of InterPride’s proceedings. This was something he had insisted on continuing. And yes, it wasn’t exactly realistic. InterPride employed half the town of Swynlake. There was a revolving door of people leaving to go onto bigger and better things. There were shiny bright new people looking for a future coming in...
Simba tried, though. Really, he did.
So, he took Ed to Chippamunka because he’d heard he was American and assumed that he didn’t want some crazy fancy dining experience like the kind Remy’s offered. Simba, honestly, couldn’t wait for Tiana to open up Tiana’s Place, so he could take everyone there instead.
When the boy he’d met in passing when he’d first been hired appeared at the door, Simba stood, flagging him down to the booth he’d snagged.
“Hullo, Ed,” Simba said, reaching out his hand. “I’m Simba Lyons. It’s a pleasure to meet you. Please, sit. I’ve already ordered us a plate of spinach puffs. They’re to die for.”
