Sunflowers and Turtles || Stellie

It has been a couple of weeks now.
A couple of very long and almost eternity feeling, dreadfully slow weeks if Ellie could add, that she has been stuck in the hospital. It had all started with the pneumonia, which was still a strong culprit for why she was stuck here, but then ended with her cancer.
Her blood cell count was down, all of them. The pneumonia had wiped out a good chunk of her white blood cells and because of her cancer.... she wasn’t making enough right now to bounce back up, which meant she was stuck until further notice.
She hated it here. It wasn’t the staff, or the nurses and doctors, no they have all been wonderful but... she felt trapped. Trapped to wires, machines, hooks and lines, hospital food, and visiting hours. No one should live like this, no one should have to live like this, but Ellie also knew that this was for the best. She still looked very sickly, awfully pale, worn out and fragile with an oxygen line wrapped around her features and an IV line pumping her up with fluids and medicine.
This was all the redhead was thinking about as she laid on her hospital bed staring up at the ceiling. She heard a knock then and was glad she turned her head to see who it was because it was Stan!
“More flowers?! And they’re sunflowers too?!?!! Aww, I love sunflowers!!! How did you know?!?”
