BDRPWriMo Task #9:
Petition Town Board for something!
Petitioner: Minerva Muysken Other Signers: A good chunk of the hospital staff of Swynlake General Hospital Petition: This petition is being presented today in lieu of the several magical events that occur annually within the boarders of Swynlake. It can be concluded that throughout the course of a year such events will occur at least once during the months of February, April, August and October. More often times than not, such events bring along with them harm and injuries to the citizens of this town, which therefore increases the volume of inpatients within Swynlake General Hospital over the daily average to double if not triple the rate. Medical supplies are scarcely available to support such a high frequency with Swynlake General Hospital. A decrease in medical supplies does not allow for adequate and safe care to our patients and often leads to increased risk of hospital acquired infections, spread of contaminants, delayed care, improper healing of wounds, prolonged hospital stays, etc. Consequences of a shortage of supplies can even lead to death in the most severe of cases.
A recommendation is being proposed for an increase of monetary funds during the four afore mentioned months so that proper stocking of medical supplies as well as equipment can be ordered and put in place in preparation for these events.
Budget: One thousand pounds (right that’s the correct currency???) for each month previously mentioned. It is advised that the monetary funds actually be given a month prior to the mentioned ones above: January, March July, and September. Such a time stamp will allow for medical supplies/equipment to be ordered and delivered in time for the preparation of the magical event.
BDRPWriMo Task #7:
Five headcanons for the Forest of Enchantra
The Seeonee Pack Territory adapts to the needs of the pack. It’s the one swath of land where India native shrubbery, foliage, and plant life/flora can be found growing. There is a section of the land where Jasmine flowers grow and they can be a talkative bunch, often informing the pack about all that has occurred in or around their land.
As well as adapting, their piece of land communicates with the pack sending off slight vibration marks through the ground when it senses that there is a danger near or heading forth that can harm one of the members. It can only be felt by the Seeonee pack, and only when they are in the form of their wolves. No other beast would feel these vibrations.
On Dia de los Muertos, La Llorana makes a visit to Swynlake, parking herself by Atlantis Lake. It’s often said that you can hear her loud wailing even in the streets of Swynlake. To the animals of the Forest, her wailing transfers over to something like a banshee shriek, forcing them to run and hide to get as far as why from the noise from the possible. Some animals are even reporting to be more rabid and vicious than normal on this night.
If you walk far enough along Atlantis lake, you’ll come across clearing where a stray part of the lake dips into a beautiful small waterfall and creates a clear pond of water. The fauna around the pond is lush and illuminates brightly under the setting of the sun. The water in the pond is pristinely clear and reflects off as a rainbow. They say the water is magical and if you make a wish it’ll come true.
The forest sings back to you. If you enter Enchantra humming/singing a song or tune the forest will repeat it back to you either in the form of the wind, the scattering noise of the leaves, the swaying of branches or even through the movements of the inhabitants of the forest. It does this with the Seeonee pack too, when they howl, the forest howls back.
BDRPWriMo Task #27:
Rewrite a passage from one of the one-shots in this list three different times, using different points of view and tense.
Here is the original one: Webby Goes to the Grocery Store!
Isabel:
Isabel had opted in keeping Goliath company while he went ahead to go grocery shopping. Apparently, he hadn’t realized when his food supply had gotten terribly low and now he has entered dire situation mode, also known as, cereal with milk survival. Of course, that is hardly sufficient enough for a gargoyle-man hence the food shopping.
They were at the produce aisle, the aisle that for some reason always took the longest, but Isa came prepared, she had a book nice and squarely tucked under arm.
Scanning around, she found a nice comfy corner where she could get some reading in before Goliath moved on to the next aisle. Isa opened her book, it was A Tale of Two Cities. The brunette had read this book multiple times already, it was her absolute favorite and she was toward the middle endish when suddenly a presence disturbed her reading.
It was some girl, a girl Isabel had never seen before, blonde and had to be about her age? Anyways, this total stranger took a seat right beside her and inched herself so close that she broke all concept of personal space. If that wasn’t bad enough she began to read her book! This blonde was actually reading and turning the pages of the book that was resting right over Isa’s hand! She was so on top of Isa at this point that all the brunette could see from her line of vision were bustles of dirty blonde hair strands.
Isabel looked at this girl dumbfounded! She was in complete shock! Her mouth even parting slightly as the girl seemed completely unfazed of her own actions. Coming back to her sense the brunette began to inch a bit away, but all that served to do was make the blonde inch along with Isa.
“I-umm.... excuse me can I uhh... help you?”
Nope, did nothing. The girl just kept on reading until she came to the end and then popped up from her seat. With a great big smile and she waved Isa good-bye running to her cart.
“I wouldn’t read the end if I were you the main character DIES!!” And the girl skated on off. Isabel remained, again utterly dumbfounded, when she grabbed her cell phone and dialed Oliver.
“Ollie... I just had the weirdest thing happen to me...”
Raksha:
Raksha had just entered the grocery store pushing along her almost one-year old daughter now in her stroller. She was aware that food shopping would go a lot smoother without Rhea along, however, all the people she trusted to watch Rhea (which was a very short list mind you) were busy so that meant Rhea came with her mother.
There weren’t a lot of things that women needed anyways, mainly just some fruits and vegetables which coincidentally could all be found in the produce aisle.
Quick, simple, and easy trip.
Except that this was Swynlake when were things ever truly so simple?
Raksha had been minding her own business looking through the apples when suddenly a cart went zooming by passed her! If the brunette hadn’t had her wolf senses to alert her of the oncoming object she would have been trampled by it!
And long and behold some blonde teenage girl was steering the cart, zooming and skating along without a care in the world, screaming in glee while she did so.
The woman growled and was ready to rip this child’s head off. Where were her parents?! Was there no sense of behavior educated on her?! It was distracted by her own anger and frustration that she had stopped eyeing her own daughter, Rhea now inching forward on the seat of her stroller. She had spotted an apple of her own, and Rhea loved apples! Her small chubby hands had gone right to the super red juicy one, the one that just so happened to be in the direct center of a stacked pile of apples.
Raksha had cooled down now and had turned to look at her daughter. “Wait! Rhea no—” Too late, Rhea pulled the apple and there went tumbling down to the ground all the rest of them.
“Clean up in the produce aisle. Clean up in the produce aisle.” Blared the intercom as Raksha sighed heavily, rubbing the bridge of her nose. Rhea was holding her apple laughing and giggling all accomplished.
“Eat, eat mama! Eat, eat!” This was going to be a long day.
Miranda Roberts:
Ms. Miranda Roberts was at the produce section too, towards the end of it getting ready to head on over to the next aisle according to her grocery list. She was an older woman, late-fifties early sixties. She hadn’t witness the cause for the food incident that just occurred, but there she went being nosy and tsk-tsking away any ways.
Women these days, they simply didn’t know how to raise children correctly like they did back in her generation.
Sticking her opinion and nose in other people’s business simply didn’t stop there, not when she was overhearing the current conversation a teenage girl was having with her grandmother.
“Hi granny! I’m totally not food shopping all alone without any kind of adult supervision whatsoever! I’m umm at Seamus’s uhh doing er homework yeah!! With my friend uhhhhh— Mapple! Yeah, Mapple is totally just…. chilling here. Chilling like a villain… with a good ole top hat.”
The audacity!
“Young lady, did you just blatantly lie to your grandmother! And don’t tell me that you didn’t because I just heard you lie clear as day just now! How could you?! Lie in such a way! You can leave your grandmother worried sick about you! I am sure you were raised better than to lie in such a manner. Why back in my day I would have never even thought to dare lie to my mother or grandmother! I don’t understand you bunch of teenagers these days roaming around and acting as if you own the world! Lying whenever you want! You hurt the people you love doing such a thing! You should immediately call your grandmother back, tell her the truth, and deeply apologize for what you have done!”
There, that ought to teach her! Miranda gave a firm nod of her head before she proudly walked away with her shopping cart leaving Webby for the first time ever in her life utterly speechless.
BDRPWriMo Task #29:
YOUR (the mun’s) favorite thing about Swynlake/your least favorite thing about Swynlake.
Favorite Thing About Swynlake:
Omg I love so many things about Swynlake!!!! I am absolutely in love with the whole magical texting system that happens in town!!! I know I don’t often partake in it, but I ADORE the concept of it all, the idea that any text message you send can potentially end up being sent to the entire town, or random people in town. You can make friends that way and it’s just hilarious to see who ends up receiving the text message. I love it and I love how accepting the residents of the town are about it.
I do also love that in Swynlake there is a that small town thing where if you know one person you can be connected to the next person and so on and so forth. Eventually your one character can end up connected to everyone else in the role play haha.
Least Favorite Thing About Swynlake:
My least favorite thing about Swynlake would have to be how quickly things are done with once an event is over. Like the zombie event, a bunch of brain eating disastrous zombies took over the town running amok, causing terror, and very likely caused some real damage but the next day all was well in town. Unless there is some magical headcanon that explains the why for that and I just missed it.... it always mind boggles me.
The one other thing that’s like my least favorite about Swynlake is the fact that there are some old timers here. There are characters here that has lived here their whole like like by now everyone should be knowing everyone’s dirty business!! It’s a small town!! But I feel like when old timers interact with each other they almost act like so brand new around each other, so yeahh....
BDRPWriMo Task #25:
10 headcanons about Swynlake in general! (It doesn’t matter if these match up with other people’s views!! It’s fun to hear everyone’s takes!)
Ten Swynlake Headcanons!
Maps are sold for tourist to get around smoothly in town, however, they aren’t exactly the most trustworthy.... for some reason they tend to switch around. One moment the map will tell you to go left and then the next when you look at the same path it has a whole different set of directions. Some say it’s just the magic of the town having fun playing tricks on tourist, so good luck not getting lost!
There is a thought thinking bench in Main Street built since the founding of the town. It’s an ancient thing that when sat upon is said to expand the mind to it’s fullest deep thinking potential, only when seated of course. It’s said that even Sir Issac Newton sat on the bench once and that was when the infamous apple hit his head.
The old black gate around the cathedral graveyard is an enchanted one. It talks and he loves having conversations with his visitors. He’s a little mischievous though and likes to tell you how you’re going to die. (All made up predictions of course, but he doesn’t tell you that)
Swynlakers can’t understand why tourist enjoy visiting Swynlake. The town is a little shit to them. Ever speak to a tourist and they are looking at you like you have five heads over your shoulder? That’s because the town has them hearing you speak in tongues. They know shit of what you’re saying.
Swynlake can also be very rude to it’s residents. It’d be very smart if one didn’t liter because that sad moment you do, best believe the ground beneath you will rise some and you are falling down to your gruesome tripping death. That’ll teach you not to litter!
The basement of Swynlake Primary is hella haunted! Mediums don’t understand why, but it’s like the homeless section for ghosts who have no where to haunt. Paranormal activity there is very hight. Students like to go down there with the lights off and say “Bloody Mary” three times, but they always end up crying hysterically and running for dear life.
The Nursing department is not too far off from the Science building. Pride U has one of the top three ranking nursing programs in England and top ten in Europe (probably because they train their nurses pretty heavily on trauma cases)!! It’s a highly competitive program to get into. They have state of the art technology and magically enchanted dummies that act and speak as real patients!
There is a statute of a serpent entwined staff by the entrance of Pride U’s Nursing Department. It’s said to have magical healing powers. Students of the university swear by it and are often seen hurdling around it completing the oddest of rituals to it whenever they are sick. It tends to be extra popular during exam times when students are begging for optimal health to get them through.
Tourist shop in Swynlake totally sells those I heart Swynlake paraphernalia but with an added extra bonus fee if tourist so desire it (they always do). The object can switch colors to fit whatever the customer wants that day!
Swynlake General Hospital is split into wings that bunches up the specific types of units found in the hospital. Each wing is named after a knight from King Arthur’s round table.
BDRPWriMo Task #19:
Flip The Script: Change one DRASTIC trait about your character and write a one-shot. (A character who is a Magick is now a Mundus or vice versa; a character is suddenly born in an entirely different place; a 15-year-old is a 51-year-old etc etc.)
It was November 12th, 2017.
Raksha was soundly asleep, warm under sheets with Rama beside just as fast asleep. He had taken some time off from work for the baby. Raksha was 40 weeks pregnant, Rhea could come at any moment. It was that fact that had suddenly awoken the brunette from her deep slumber.
She had felt uncomfortable.
Raksha had tossed and turned some on her bed hoping that by switching her position the pain would lessen. She had been having some Braxton Hicks contractions (false labour pains) the past couple of weeks. Raksha merely assumed it was occurring again tonight. Being unsuccessful in lessening them, the woman got herself up such a simple action taking longer than it would with most, but then again she had a full developed baby inside of her.
Finally, Raksha made it to the bathroom and was going to wash her face with some water when she suddenly felt something strange. It was a leak of fluid streaming down from between her legs.
Her water just broke. She was entering labor (or already had been through it in her sleep).
Raksha began to move around her bathroom cleaning the slight mess and switching out of her pair of pants and undergarments. Luckily, she had on a rather large and long shirt. What was lacking in the bathroom was a clock. She had to start timing the contractions. She began to move again make her way back to her bedroom, stopping once when a rush of a contraction hit her like a ton of bricks. She had a high pain tolerance and was able to stand and breathe through this one, but she really needed to start timing them.
The brunette entered her bedroom, flipping the switch on that had caused Rama to awaken from his sleep. “You have to get up the baby is coming.”
The rest of the labor process went ahead as expected. Raksha was made comfortable in her bed as she breathed and cringed through each wave of contractions. She switched positions, grasped tightly onto any visible object, walked around and the whole nine yards throughout her hours of labor as her husband stood right beside her making her feel as comfortable as he possibly could.
Raksha knew he would have opted for a hospital birth, one where the pain could be relieved, but that was not an option for a werewolf. They would know who they all were. The pack remained beside her, it was all going well.
That was until Raksha felt the need to push.
There was a panic that came with that thought, a strong and full wave of panic that had gotten a capture of her mind. Suddenly, she didn’t want to push. It wouldn’t be safe for her baby. This world wasn’t safe. Rhea was safe inside of her, not outside. She could stay for a week or even two and would be okay. No, no it wasn’t time!
Raksha refused to push even with Rama beside her begging her to do so, she wouldn’t budge, she just kept repeating that the baby wouldn’t be safe. The cord was wrapped around the baby, two times, but that was something unknown to everyone in the room. They were not in the hospital where it could have been foreseen and Raksha was still refusing to push.
Rhea was loosing oxygen, Raksha still persistent against pushing and delivering this baby to the world.
Eventually, the body won out against Raksha’s iron will and the baby was delivered, but there was no cry.
“She’s not—she’s not crying?! Why—why isn’t she crying?! She’s suppose to be crying! Rama, she—she needs to cry! Why isn’t my baby crying!”
Raksha was screaming in a desperate fear each minute passing by and the baby still not making a sound. Rama finally approached Raksha’s side but in his arms was a limp, pale, lifeless baby. It had been too late, Rhea had not made it. Raksha took her baby, holding her with trembling arms as streams of tears poured down from her eyes. She wept, cried loud in grief and despair clinging the dead child close to her body rocking back and forth. She was beautiful would have grown to be so beautiful.
She had killed her baby. In her panic, in her fear of loosing Rhea like she had lost Rahil, she had killed her. Raksha had killed her daughter and now was doomed to live a life consumed in that guilt and the grief of never being able to have her by her side.
BDRPWriMo Task #18:
Create a Spell! (Your character doesn’t have to be magic for this, you as the mun can create one!)
A spell to evoke sleep and tiredness
Ingredients needed:
Evening water
1 cup of moonlight
4 ounces of lavender scent procured out of a lavender flower
A pleasant dream can be a memory of one, but the spell works best if it’s a personal dream/memory of one
A yawn
4 ounces of your favorite sleeping sound procured from the source (laps of waves, rustle of leaves, rainfall etc.)
Measuring cups
Several mixing bowls
Mixing spoons
Your choice of detergent
Instructions:
The best time for this spell is the evening and or night time, however, if you are pressed for time any part of the day will do.
First you are going to take a pot and fill it with water placing it over the stove. With your reagent of evening (for best results the last rays of the setting sun should be used) you are going to pour it into the water, mixing it and allowing it to boil. The heat represents the warmth of sleep.
Once the water has come to a boil, it should start resembling a pinkish-orange color. Taking your measuring cups you are first going to take 1 cup of the evening water and pour it out onto a mixing bowl. Once that is poured out you are going to thoroughly mix it with your moonlight.
Next you will do the same with the evening water, but this time only pour out 4 ounces of such and into an entirely separate bowl. Once completed mix the 4 ounces of your evening water with your lavender scent.
Now, repeat the same steps on a separate bowl but this time with your favorite preference of sleeping sound. (Georgette loves the sound of rainfall!)
When all three afore mentioned ingredients are completed, take a bigger bowl and mix them all thoroughly together: your moonlight, lavender scent, and sleeping sound. Once all have been mixed add on the yawn and your personal dream/memory of one. Make sure to mix exceptionally well.
By this point your mixture should be a dark blue in color, shimmering and have a light to medium thick consistency. Taking your bottle of your favorite detergent, you are going to pour your mixture into the detergent giving it a firm shake once mixed.
Wash any garment you wish to wear with this mixture and once the garment is on you will have twenty-four hours of evoked tiredness and sleep spread about in the same way that a human experiences such in a twenty-four hour period. Effects are only well for a week. Once the week is up the garment should be re-washed again with the mixture.
If you desire only to use this mixture to a nights rest, it can be done so, simply skip the steps involving the detergent and mix the spell with regular water. Once it’s mixed pour it into an empty bottle spray and spray the spell over your bed sheets and/or clothing you will be sleeping in.
BDRPWriMo Task #20:
Create your own magic-friendly town somewhere else in the world!
Amnem Iuga Medeis
Population: 10,144
Iuga Medeis comes from the latin words for river: amnem, magic: medeis and heights: iuga, River Heights of Magic, which coincidentally describes the locational settings of the small magic-friendly town. Amnem Iuga Medeis is located in La Romana, Dominican Republic quite literally atop the rushing Chavon River.
The history surrounding this secluded town is not one of sound documentation, but of tales past down from generation to generation. Discovered in 1914 by the incidental mishaps of an apprentice sorceress who came across the location of the town entirely by accident, the town’s architecture and archeological findings, however, timeline the origin of the town to be dated back further than it’s discovery to the mainland.
1890 as the tale goes a group of local brujas and seers from La Romana were running from persecution being set upon them in the town. Although the island of Dominican Republic is lax concerning their magic laws and are more open then others, locals all across the island have a strong superstitious stigma against those practicing brujeria and prophecy. In 1890 there was a huge movement spreading across the island, similar to that of the Salem Witch Trials, were such people were being hung and slaughtered.
The chase had brought this band of women to the Chavon River, leaving them at a dead end with no other means of escape while the rushing crowds were coming close in pursuit. One of the women, Maria Sandoval, came across an oddity of sorts by the river bank, an aloe vera plant. Being believed that when in the presence of a flourished aloe vera, the plant would grant good things and ward of evil spirits, the woman hung onto the plant desperately.
In mere seconds, the group of women were no where to be found to the crowd of angry hunters, all seemingly vanished from thin air.
In reality, or according to the tale, the women were magically transported to the area of land atop the Chavon River that resides as the home of the town today. Once before, there were strong and heavily magical made wards that granted them protection and privacy against the eyes of outsiders. That was until the presence of Estrella Morales, the sorceress who accidentally stumbled upon the town through her use of magic. Now publicly known, the residents of La Romana keep their peace with the town and the residents of Amnem Iuga Medeis live a life outside of persecution where they are free to practice what ever sort of magic befits them.
